Old Farmer's Almanac vs. NOAA

I have an ongoing debate with a co-worker regarding what started out as man -made “Global Warming” until they had to change it to “Global Climate Change” once actual (lack of rising) temps did not match the predictions.  He has been very stern in telling me that the science is “Settled” regarding the debate and that I need to read the scientific publications to get the facts instead of the “Rhetoric from the Right” and that the media has mislead us all…

Unfortunately for my friend he has not been able to explain how just back in the 1970’s they were predicting a coming “Ice age” then just 40 years later the scare was the opposite with all of our Ice bergs melting.  But he claims that with the use of 10,000 year old Ice-cores they can tell me what the temperature change has been and with his scientific publications where we are headed.

I can’t wait to show him these tidbits that appeared in the Investors business piece today. The "Old Farmer's Almanac vs. NOAA

Last fall, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) predicted above-normal temperatures from November through January across much of the continental U.S. The Farmers' Almanac, first published in 1818, predicted a bitterly cold, snowy winter.

The Maine-based Farmers' Almanac's still-secret methodology includes variables such as planetary positions, sunspots, lunar cycles and tidal action. It claims an 80% accuracy rate, surely better than those who obsess over fossil fuels and CO2.

The winter has stayed cold in 2014, and snowfall and snow cover are way above average. USA Today reported on Feb. 14 that there was snow on the ground in part of every state except Florida. That includes Hawaii.

As Bloomberg notes, the CPC underestimated the "mammoth December cold wave, which brought snow to Dallas and chilled partiers in Times Square on New Year's Eve." The Almanac didn't, though Caleb Weatherbee, its prognosticator, apologized for being a few days off on two of the season's biggest storms.

The CPC seems to have completely missed the "polar vortex" that swept down and caused every state except Florida to experience snowfall and brought about 4,406 record low temperatures across the U.S. in January, along with 1,073 record snowfalls.

As John Christy, professor of atmospheric science and director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, has noted, global temperatures collected in five official databases confirm that there's been no statistically significant global warming for the past 17 years — contradicting the predictions made by 73 computer models cited in the United Nations' latest (wrong) global warming report...

JMU Hockey and the "Hockey Stick" manmade global warming theory...

Went to the JMU vs. Radford Ice hockey game last night at the MainStreet Arena in Charlottesville and saw a good game along with reading about Michael Mann, author of the "Hockey-Stick" graph on man made global warming, being in town giving a enviro-talk to the students of UVA...

Great game with Radford coming out and delivering two massive hits in the first 20 seconds of the first period to set the tone of play. Radford controlled the first period with what must have been a 3 to 1 shots on goal ratio and the first score in the first half of the period. JMU Dukes did get it together towards the end with a score 9 seconds before the end of the period...

.

In the 2nd period JMU came out like a new team and continued to crash the Radford net and this resulted in a 5 to 3 lead for the Dukes at the end of the 2nd period. There was a very interesting call where the Radford goalie performed a "Poke-check" in front of the net (No doubt the result of a prior suggestion by fellow hockey fan Chris Green to the Radford coach after a prior game) but lost his stick and pushing the puck away from the JMU player and the Ref granted the JMU a penalty shot which was stopped by the goalie.....

In the 3rd Radford tied it up after the JMU goalie attempted a poke-check but ended up feeding the puck to the trailing Radford wing who promptly deposited it into the JMU goal. Radford ended up scoring the final goal and winning the game in front of a pretty good crowd of people gathered...

During one of the intermissions I sat and read an article in the local C-ville about climate scientist Michael Mann had returned to UVA to give a keynote lecture regarding those who question his climate research and conclusion of man made global warming. "“Contrarians
or deniers, I think that there has been some tendency to give those who denythe scientific consensus far too much prominence in the public discourse.”

Now I was in his backyard and old stomping grounds of UVA where he once was a climate scientist and eventually came up with the famous "Hockey Stick" graph showing the dramatic increase of global temperature that he concludes comes from man made gasses, and I was reading a local weekly C-ville paper, so what should I expect?...

By Mann's and the C-ville papers definition, I am one of those "deniers" who continues to question the conclusion that global warming is caused by man made gasses. I do not dispute that there is global warming but do question that it is caused to the extent that some claim is responsible for much of the warming now being experienced.

Anybody remember back in the 70's when we were told of the coming Ice age that would cover much of the U.S. ? If we have made such a dramatic swing in such a short period of time how do you think we could ever slow down or possible stop this "man made" warming? ....

"Paper or Plastic"?... TAKE the Plastic!!.....

"A new study by the Environment Agency of England finds that those thin plastic bags have a smaller carbon footprint than reusable plastic or cotton satchels as well as disposable paper bags. According to "Evidence: Life Cycle Assessment of Supermarket Carrier Bags," you'd have to reuse a fashionable cotton bag at least 131 times to equal the low carbon footprint of a simple plastic bag. If you reuse a plastic bag — as a wastebasket liner perhaps — they pull even further away as the most green technology."

Besides what happens if you lose one of those "Save the Planet" reusable bags before you use it the minimum 131 times to make it worthwhile?

"Also, as other studies have shown, those trendy reusable bags provide a wonderful breeding ground for E. coli and other bacteria. That is, unless you wash them regularly. But if you do that, as my American Enterprise Institute colleague Ken Green notes, all that bleach, soap and hot water expand their carbon footprint as well."

I found it both ironic and interesting to see that the DN-R published an Open Forum by one of the two residents who attended the climate conference in Cancun (“Reduce Your Carbon Footprint;” “Couple To Attend Climate Conference In Cancun,” Dec. 2;). The Stricklers will attend part of the two-week conference as nongovernmental observers for the Sierra Club.

In his Open Forum, Charles Strickler also expressed his concerns regarding the use and damaging effects of fossil fuels as well as the reasons for the dire status of our economy.

The carbon calculator I found online estimates the roundtrip flights for Mr. and Mrs. Strickler to Cancun from, say, Charlottesville produced 3,802 lbs. of global warming CO2 gas. And how much better would it have been to spend the money generated by this conference right here in the economy of the United States?

Well, the Stricklers did mention R & R, and drinking margaritas, so I hope they had a good time. That really is all that matters. There was an opening prayer to a Mayan goddess. Some say that the 15,000 attendees produced as much carbon as an African nation does in one year. But the price of a ton of carbon on the Chicago Climate Exchange is still zero.

What about the conference itself? Organisers the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) were unable to supply me with a carbon footprint when I asked. But the last conference in Copenhagen, that had just as many people travelling from all around the world, generated the same amount of carbon produced by an African country in one year, and we can hardly suppose it will much less with all the air-conditioning etc.

Just think about the carbon and energy savings if they held this conference by way of tele-conferencing? Everybody wants to sit home in their pajamas "working" on their computers instead of actually traveling into the workplace to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint. Imagine the savings of both if they quit transporting 15,000+ people to tropical islands for two week bash?

The local activist that were mentioned in the above Letter to the Editor traveled to Cancun as "nongovernmental observers" and supported by the Sierra Club... It is good to be active in causes and I am sure the DNR will have a lovely story about their activism\vaction in Cancun and there will sure to be numerous LTE & Open Forums written by the Stricklers. I wonder if they will mention the debate on the overall "footprint" made by this conference?...

The Sierra Club reported Income of $91,843,757 for the year of 2004 with a end of year net worth of $53,339,819...

Imagine how many of those funny looking CFL lightbulbs the Sierra Club could have purchased and the Stricklers could have handed out and the amount of energy saved\Carbon reduction instead of a trip to Cancun?.....

The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grew louder in 2010 as the Climategate scandal—which involved the upper echelon of UN IPCC scientists—detonated upon on the international climate movement. “I view Climategate as science fraud, pure and simple,” said noted Princeton Physicist Dr. Robert Austin shortly after the scandal broke. Climategate prompted UN IPCC scientists to turn on each other. UN IPCC scientist Eduardo Zorita publicly declared that his Climategate colleagues Michael Mann and Phil Jones “should be barred from the IPCC process...They are not credible anymore.” Zorita also noted how insular the IPCC science had become. “By writing these lines I will just probably achieve that a few of my future studies will, again, not see the light of publication,” Zorita wrote.

"Global Warming" did not work so now it's "Global Climate Change", or is it?...

Turns out it's getting hard to sell the "Global Warming" stick so it has been changed to "Global Climate Change" which is more broad based and will always be true as long as the weather does not go static and never change at all...

The temperature this morning in Cancun dropped to 51F, breaking the record low for the date of 64 set in 2000. It was also the coldest December morning in Cancun history (old record 52F). Gore must have been there at least in spirit. Recall last year, the IPCC Copenhagen meeting was hit with a blizzard and frigid temperatures. The IPCC moved the meeting to Cancun to avoid another embarrassment and feel the global warmth.

Local Harrisonburg VA Activist go to Cancun, Mexico to "Celebrate"(?) Global Warming?....

The local Harrisonburg newspaper reports that a local "Environmentalist\Political activist" couple from the Harriosnburg area is now attending the Climate Action Alliance gathering being held in Cancun, Mexico.... (See above video of the event)

Both Charles and Cathy Strickler have been active in the area and I have seen their Letters to the Editors in the paper numerous times and they are indeed very "active" in the local happenings of the Valley....

During this same week the same newspaper highlighted some wisdom from Mr. Strickler in a Open Forum letter to the people of the valley. Impressive opportunity for Strickler to broadcast his views and beliefs but the original article printed in The News Leader should have asked the activists the obvious questions regrding the reason for this trip to Cancun and the event itself....

In his Open Forum letter Strickler stated:

The big financial institutions went happily on their way, selling homes to people who could not afford them, and passing the loans on to others who did not care about those involved. Just give me mine! Some even made money by betting that the market would crash (AIG). Some tried to get people to change their ways, to get better regulations on borrowing, etc., but of course, things got out of hand and now we are all paying the price. There were a few people who predicted the financial problem. What would have happened if 90 percent of all financial advisers had been saying that the economy was not sustainable?

But yet was it not the Democratic Party majority controlled Congress that allowed the above actions to continue and infact encouraged it? Remember Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and how many of the Congresspeople from the Democrat party supported its actions in loaning money to those who obviously could not afford it?.... Remember the videos of Congressman Charlie Rangle on the floor stating Fannie and Freddie are just fine?..And as much as I am sure that the Stricklers love and appreciate the predictions made by Glen Beck, he has been reporting and predicting the current financial mess for years.....

On the climate side, there are some who get it and are doing all they can to change their lives by reducing their carbon use. Besides, it also makes good economic sense to insulate your house and drive a fuel efficient vehicle. And if you truly understand the science, you have great concern for your children and grandchildren.

Now about those 1,500 activists that are attending the get-together in Cancun, Mexico...

What is the "Carbon footprint" of that travel and how was that trip to and from Harrisonburg, Virginia? Maybe the Stricklers bought the appropriate "Carbon Credits" from the Al Gore boondoggle of a program....

Models of our environmental future do not paint a very pretty picture. No one knows with certainty exactly how it will turn out, but the scientists whom we have relied on in the past tell us that we are headed for a very different and difficult environmental future. Can we as individuals and collective citizens make a difference in the outcome? I am trying to do my part and hoping that you will do your part too.

Is "Hockey Stick" Prof. Michael Mann hiding something?....

Recently, the JMU faculty came out in support of "academic freedom" and Professor Michael Mann in his refusal to release his data supporting his manmade global warming claims and conclusions, as requested by Virginia Attorney General Cuccinelli. The AG is seeking the data to determine if any fraud was committed against the taxpayers who funded Mann's research while at U.Va.

This was contradicted in several "leaked" e-mails that eluded to data manipulation to get his desired results and his "Hockey Stick" theory.

.
Is it a matter of "academic freedom" or simple accountability of the data compiled with the use of taxpayer money that funded Professor Mann's research and conclusion? Research grants acquired by professors bring much to universities, and this, too, has become a big business in itself.
.

Over at the American Spectator, there is information disclosing the amount of grant money Mann has been associated with, and it totals more than $6 million. This shows research grants are "big business" to say the least.

It is obvious research is both a valuable and a needed aspect along with being a "big business" in itself, but when it is the result of taxpayer funded grants, should not we have access to the data supporting the conclusions?

This Letter to the Editor appeared recently in the Staunton NewsLeader and it is interesting to see the comments that came in regarding this issue....

Cuccinelli needs to focus probe into Mann's scientific work that we paid for....

Albemarle County Circuit Court Judge Paul Peatross' recently determined that Attorney General Cuccinelli did not properly determine the scope of the inquiry into Professor Mann's work on Global Warming and the data to back up his "Hockey Stick" theory that proves Global Warming is "man-made" as many think it is...

The Roanoke Times:
"Peatross said the attorney general can issue such subpoenas to UVa and investigate state-funded grants to professors. But in this case, Peatross ruled, Cuccinelli failed to define the "nature of the conduct" that would justify an allegation of fraud and a demand for documents."

Professor Mann even came out and said that the "Hockey Stick" theory was "misplaced" and should not have become the icon it now is...

.

But the issue should be that ANY research performed using "Taxpayer Grant Money" is the taxpayers property and we should be allowed to review this data and ask the hard questions. We paid for it, we own it....

.

Many in the scientific community got upset and claimed that providing the data to AG Cuccinelli would suppress "Academic Freedom" as they see it and would have a chilling effect on future research...

As I have written before grant research money is a BIG BUSINESS for these guys and the universities they bring money to. Are they covering each others ass when it comes to peer review of each others work?...

And now it looks like many scientist are looking for changes to be made at the United Nations Climate Panel regarding its leadership and management structure... Will this be another "Chilling effect" on scientific research?....

The "Day After Tomorrow" Marketing agenda....

I have been following the "Letters to the Editor" section of the Roanoke Times newspaper regarding the recent story of a 100 sq. mile section of the Arctic's Petermann Glacier that broke off of Greenland and with that "Environmentalists say Arctic ice melt caused by global warming"...

These letters first caught my attention when Chris Hall, a aerospace engineering professor from Blacksburg VA, responded to a "rant" by a Associated Press writer that the Roanoke Times printed and that eluded to a 20ft sea level rise if this 100 sq\mile Chunk-O-Ice was to melt....

.

Hall came up with some great calculations showing that if this "Chunk" was to melt and raise the sea level by 20 ft as stated by the AP writer the Ice Chunk "the 100-square-mile ice sheet would have to be more than 5,000 miles thick to produce the (devastating) global sea rise"....

.

After reading this response by Hall and studying the calculations for a bit I went back to the original article written by the AP writer and how the Roanoke Times presented the article, and found how the wording by the AP writer cleverly twisted the description of a "20-ft rise" in the sea level...

.

"Few images can capture the world's climate fears like a 100-square- mile (260-square-kilometer) chunk of ice breaking off Greenland's vast ice sheet, a reservoir of freshwater that if it collapsed would raise global sea levels by a devastating 20 feet (6 meters)."...

.

So if the entire "Greenland's vast ice sheet" was to melt, if possible, would that result in the "20-ft sea level rise" as presented by the AP writer or is it if the 100 sq\mile ice chunk melting and raising the sea levels by 20-feet?....

.

Its all how you read it but from what I see talking to people at work and friends many believe, and worry, that if the 100 sq\mile chunk melts we are all going to treading water. Those who read the initial statement and think about it soon understand it would take the entire "Greenland vast ice shelf" to melt, possible(?), to result in any significant sea level rise. A misunderstanding that I am sure the AP writer could have prevented if he wanted to or maybe the writer intended to get the "Global Warming Spin" that he did from many in the public...

.

I contacted Chris Hall and asked him about the wording and he agreed that any(?) significant sea level rise would only come from the entire "vast ice shelf" melting and this is why he responded with his calculations to the AP article printed by the Roanoke Times... I would love to see the actual calculations if the "entire vast ice shelf" was to melt for I doubt the AP writer had any realistic calculations done and just pulled the "20-ft" rise number out of the air, which I am sure he would claim was abnormally warm from "Global Warming"....

Before writing this I rented the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" and it took about 15 minutes into it before all reality flew out the window and the agenda was revealed, but the graphics and scenes of NYC being underwater were interesting... Far fetched, Yes, but like this movie and the phrasing used by the AP writer in the above mentioned article, this "globally warmed" spin does work with many in the public and has resulted in a Congress that might just push through a damaging environmental agenda that will result in far more then the fable 20ft rise...

Vice-President Al Gore has been pointing towards potential rising sea levels due to global warming for years if we do not act within the next few weeks to support his agenda.

Before moving to Virginia almost 10 years ago I lived in the Florida Keys and worked on a sportfishing boat for 6 years. The Key that I lived on had a highland elevation mark of about 4 feet as most of the Florida Keys do. To this day I call my friends in Key West every month or so to see if they are underwater yet?...

The Obama Equation...

Now it has been a few years since high school algebra class with Mrs. Resnick, but if I remember correctly it is possible to calculate a unknown result if you are able to find and use other known factors of the equation...

Let us take the Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico as an example...

Let us also take a look at the "Obama factors" in this equation...

The Deepwater Horizon incident is an unfortunate accident that has resulted in 13 members of the Deepwater Horizon rig being killed as well as large damages to the coastal environments and economies. This will be a event that will take decades to know the actual costs to communities, individuals, economies, wildlife, and direction the country takes towards energy independence...

.

There has already been much written about how this event will highlight the evils of fossil fuels, their effects on the environment, global warming, and how the country must switch to "renewable" or "alternative" forms of energy to save the world...

.

With that there has also been much written about the 40+ years since the last large oil spill like this type and the impressive track record during this time. Also how efficient and productive oil and Natural gas is compared to many of the "alternative" forms of energy and how Oil\Gas has powered and continues to power the worlds economies....

There has also been much written about how BP is at fault and how BP must pay for the whole incident clean-up and damages to the environment and working communities. In fact the Secretary of the Interior has stated that they (obama administration) must keep "their boot on the throat" of BP to ensure they stop the leaking well and Pay for Everything...

.

It is also apparent that the Obama administration took its time in initially responding to this incident. But let us also look at other algebraic factors we can incorporate into the "Obama equation" to determine the amount of oil allowed to leak into the gulf as the result of the administrations inept handling of this incident...

a = flow rate at well head

y = actual days allowed to leak

k = amount of oil skimmed off surface by ships

b = amount of oil burned off by using fire booms

d = days it took to get the fire booms to the site since the fedgov

did not have them as required by their own law

q = number of days that the Obama admin refused foreign offers of help

j = the Jones act that Obama refused to suspend thus keeping foreign ships from helping

h = number of hours wasted by Fedgov incompetence and infighting

f = results of the Fedgov in actually doing anything that stopped the leak

bs = Obama's visits to the Gulf and actual action to stop the physical leak

r = days it took the Obama admin before they even acknowledged the incident

m = jobs and production lost due to the Obama admins moritorium on offshore drilling

c = concerts held to aid the coastal communites effected by the spill

w = the number of times that Obama blames this whole thing on George W. Bush

Global Warming "Hockey Stick" Scientist Michael Mann says it was "Somewhat misplaced"?....

Michael Mann says hockey stick should not have become 'climate change icon'

The scientist behind the controversial 'hockey stick' graph has said it was 'somewhat misplaced' to make his work an 'icon of the climate change debate'.

The U.K. Telegraph has this report that the infamous "Hockey Stick" graph developed by then UVA Scientist Michael Mann now has Mann saying it should have never become the icon it has...
.
This is the guy, along with the University of Virginia which continues to refuse to release the data that he used to come up with this "icon" and big part of Al Gore's argument regarding global warming...
.
In fact it is Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli who has been trying to get the data regarding the Hockey Stick model but the University of Virginia now refuses to release the data, which came as the result of numerous TAXPAYER FUNDED grants that Mann , to the Attorney General...
.

But the graph was questioned by sceptics who pointed out that is it impossible to know for certain the global temperature going back beyond modern times because there were no accurate readings.

The issue became a central argument in the climate change debate and was dragged into the 'climategate' scandal, as the sceptics accused Prof Mann and his supporters of exaggerating the extent of global warming.

So where was the Professor Mann when his Hockey Stick model was being used without question or allowed "peer" review???...
.
The graph was used by Al Gore in his film 'An Inconvenient Truth' and was cited by the United Nations body the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as evidence of the link between fossil fuel use and global warming.

If there is no doubt to the data and it's conclusion, Turn over the data?
And ask Gore about that @2 million he was worth once he left the VP spot to the $100 million he is worth now...

Truth about "Hydro-fracing" you will not find in the local media hype articles...

Once again the reliable Vanity Fair people have come out with an article that attacks the practice of Hydraulic Fracturing to extract Natural Gas from underground formations...

As we've discussed on this blog, hydraulic fracturing is the tried-and-true oil and natural gas-field practice. It forces water, sand and trace amounts of chemicals into the wellbore under high pressure to create fissures allowing the energy resources to flow up to the surface.

Over at the Energy Tomorrow blog they provide a link to the Vanity Fair article as well as providing actual facts regarding the process....

Manmade Global Warming is Bullshit. Weather patterns have always happened and will continue to happen. Virginia UVA needs to release the data that Prof Mann used to come up with his bogus "Hockey Stick" program claiming manmade global warming. It was funded by taxpayer research grants and the data needs to be released...

Last month there were Tar-balls found on the beaches in Key West and the cry of "BP MUST PAY!!!" by the Obama administration was echoed once again. Sorry but research found not the same oil from the Deepwater Horizon incident. Oh yeah, the tar-balls were found on the beach next to where they dock the great big cruise ships....

The Feds were on the incident as soon as it happened. Where was the Fire boom to collect and burn the oil while it was in a small area near the incident site? They did NOT have it and they even had to wait on permits before they could use it..."When the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, the feds had not a single fire boom ready to deploy in accordance with the plan. Federal officials later had to scramble to purchase one from a manufacturer in Illinois. By then it was too late, as the oil had begun to spread out of control and emulsify from the water and the weather."

With the possible exception of the tobacco industry, no industry is held in more contempt and scorn than big oil. This is strangely foolish in that tobacco has been proved to cause cancer and has no beneficial use whatsoever, whereas oil literally fuels the American dream. Another clear example of the disconnect that brought us President Barack Hussein Obama.

When gas prices go up, Americans condemn big oil for making profits. When catastrophes happen, such as the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Americans demand that big oil be severely fined, demand more government oversight of the industry by a proven incompetent Fedzilla and demand that more safety features be implemented to prevent another oil spill while expecting gas prices to stay low.

BP and other energy companies are not evil enterprises that are out to rape the environment. They are in business to make a profit and provide us affordable energy while taking prudent measures to protect the environment. Consumer demand drives production, pure and simple. No one escapes guilt from this guaranteed cause and effect.

The facts about green energy are in, and they are uglier than an oil spill in your living room. All the wind, sun and hydro energy currently provide us with about 5 percent of our energy needs. That's all the energy they are going to provide for many years to come. At this point, green energy is a fool's game that will not provide us with meaningful energy that our energy-gluttonous, unsophisticated society requires.

UVA says NO to Cuccinelli... But this is why we should be able to see the data...

UVA University of Virginia has now come back saying that they will not release the data compiled by Prof. Mann, while using taxpayer funded grant money, to come up with his famous "Hockey Stick" theory for Global Warming...

Seems that 810 of the other scientist, who I venture to guess live on a depend on taxpayer funded grants, have gotten together to urge UVA not to release the data to the Attorney General who is investigating if any fraud is involved...

Mann is the former UVA professor, whose “hockey stick” temperature chart was used to promote claims that “sudden” and “unprecedented” manmade global warming “threatens” human civilization and Earth itself. The hockey stick was first broken by climatologists Willie Soon and Sallie Baliunas, who demonstrated that a Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age were clearly reflected in historic data across the globe, but redacted by Mann. Analysts Steve McIntyre and Ross McKitrick later showed that Mann’s computer program generated hockey-stick patterns regardless of what numbers were fed into it - even random telephone numbers; that explained why the global warming and cooling of the last millennium magically disappeared in Mann’s “temperature reconstruction.”

Simple... Show us the data if there is nothing to hide... The taxpayers paid for it...

This behavior certainly gives Cuccinelli “probable cause” for launching an investigation. As the AG notes, “The same legal standards for fraud apply to the academic setting that apply elsewhere. The same rule of law, the same objective fact-finding process, will take place.” Some witch hunt...

Grants are BIG BUSINESS and at many levels...

Work by Mann and other alarmist scientists is not merely some theoretical exercise that can be permitted to “play itself out” over many years, if and when the “academic arena” gets around to it. These assertions of climate crisis are being used right now by Congress, states, courts and the Environmental Protection Agency to justify draconian restrictions on energy use and greenhouse emissions. They would shackle our freedoms and civil rights and hammer our jobs, economy, health, welfare and living standards...

Obama now has his Attorney General Eric Holder in the Gulf claiming that they will sue and punish any company that they determine causing the Deepwater Horizon incident. Think maybe he will get the Department of Justice looking at Mann, UVA, and the "Gang"?...
