Senator Allen's visit to Weyers Cave Airport...

Weyers Cave, VA.

Senator George Allen flew into the Weyers Cave Airport today to meet with 160+ supporters who gathered to hear him speak on a cool, crisp, day in Virginia. With him he brought Senator Thune who was very interesting to listen to as well as an outstanding addition to the Republican Senate. Congressman Bob Goodlatte spoke for a short time and showed why we have two strong representatives of Virginia in Senator Allen and himself. Lt. Governor Bill Bolling did a great job at getting the crowd energized and proud to be from Virginia and Attorney General Bob McDonnell did the same. Delegates Matt Loher and Ben Cline were also in attendance and completed a strong showing of the Republican Party of Virginia...

The airport staff did a fine job of helping to make this a special event for all who attended.

Senator Thune gave a very good introduction of Senator Allen and I hope to be able to hear Senator Thune speak again some day. Senator Allen spoke of the importance of the war on terrorism as well as many important issues that involve all who live in Virginia and the United States. He spoke of the importance of developing our natural resources and the use of Bio-Diesel in the immediate farmland of our county. Senator Allen once again spoke of issues directly about Virginia and it's citizens. Something his Democratic challenger has failed to do on many occasions. He spoke of the numerous things he did as the States Governor as well as our Senator. I believe if the MainScream media would have presented these facts and asked the hard questions of the Democratic candidate this race would have been over a long time ago. Instead the media never really did there job, got easily sidetracked by the "Wing-nuts", and thus did a great dis-service to the citizens of Virginia...

Unfortunately the event had to be interrupted by a known Liberal Blogger who has history of making noise so as to attract attention to himself. Mike Stark has made a name for himself for being a "Vast-Left-Wing-Nut" and has shown his lack of integrity several times in the past. Last week he was removed from another Allen event after he pushed past several people attending the event and went directly towards the Senator. Stark stated that he was only attempting to ask the Senator a question but it is evident in the video that he "Shouldered" the person in front of him hard and had to be removed from that event.

Stark showed up at todays event with what appeared to be a "Chip on his shoulder" and conducted himself in a very arrogant manner. He pushed past me several times while I was listening to the Senator(s) and while I was taking photos of the event. As Senator Allen was finishing his speech Stark became loud yelling questions at the Senator as he was leaving. Many in the crowd began to chant "Six More Years" over and over. Stark then darted thru the crowd and I had to help a Mother move her two young children out of the way of Stark before they got hurt. Stark then ran into a woman attending the event and knocked her into a camera stand in the middle of the room. Stark then continued to push towards the Senator at which time he ran into another person knocking the man to the floor. This incident happened directly in front of a Sheriff's Deputy who was within 6-8 feet and who then took Stark into custody and removed him from the terminal.

Stark once again showed his arrogance when the Sheriff's Deputy had to put him into the patrol car...

The blogger "Spank That Donkey" was also in attendance and made the following report on the incident on his blog with additional photos of the incident...

Autumn for the Troops...

Churchville, VA.

A local elementary school heard of the “From Our Hearts” program and wanted to send something special to the troops so the first graders, with some help from their fifth grade “Buddies”, put together some notes for the troops. They also attached a leaf of their choice to their letters so that our Troops can remember for a moment the precious changing of the seasons back home…

A dear friend Rhonda Winfield spends her time visiting injured troops at the Veterans hospital and told me of a recent visit. I asked her to write of the visit and below is what she sent me.We will be doing one last shipment to the troops for the Holiday season.

More info will follow very soon so please check back often and help us to make this an outstanding “Holiday Shipment” to our Troops...

Please visit "From Our Hearts" at www.fromrhearts.blogspot.com for Rhonda's story and more info about this program...

"Did we forget to mention?"...

Staunton, VA.

Senator George Allen stopped by Mrs. Rowe's restaurant in Staunton to have breakfast with 110 to 120 local supporters on Friday while on his way to Harrisonburg.

It was an outstanding showing of support for the visit was just announced a day earlier and in fact the Staunton NewsLeader had just added it to their frontpage of the NewsLeader webpage the prior night.

Delegates Chris Saxman, Ben Cline, and Steve Landes joined the Senator who took the time to meet everyone in the two rooms provided for the breakfast. Senator Allen then visited with all of the other rooms in Mr. Rowe's and took the time to meet with and speak with many people. Senator Allen visited with all those in attendance, including the local media, for about 45 to 50 minutes before moving on to other scheduled visits...

I did find it interesting that the Staunton NewsLeader newspaper, who announced the visit on their webpage the night before and had their crack reporter David Royer in attendance, failed to even mention the Senators visit in their paper at all... Bob Stuart from the NewsVirginian was also in attendance and did a good description of the visit and the NewsVirginian even printed the story on their front page so it must have actually happened...

It is interesting to see that the NewsLeader would send a reporter to a visit by the State Senator but fail to mention it in their newspaper. Seem to recall that when Jim Webb came to Staunton a few weeks back the Newsleader had a front page photo and a good part of the front page taken up with a story about his visit. Also recall that the visit was a short one if memory serves me... Did you Hear about the visit to Harrisonburg by Jimmy and Mark Warner a few days back that lasted, reported, only about 5 minutes but yet the NewsLeader reported on it?...

"Dem, Democrat, Democratic, (D)," ..... Which one?

www

Several times in the past it has been questioned which term should be used when describing a member of the Democratic Party. Now I am sure there is a host of names, descriptions, phrases, nick-names, designations, aka’s, epithets, titles, etc. that we have for Democratic Party members such as Hillary, Dean, Webb, and Reid but that is another post in the works.

When referring to a member of this party what is the best term to use?

Let’s say you are writing about candidate Jim Webb…
(Careful with your description for there may be children that see your choices, not that Jim Webb would care what they saw…)

Would it be Democrat Candidate Jim Webb?
Or Democratic Candidate Jim Webb?
Or Dem Candidate Jim Webb?
Or Candidate Jim Webb (D)?
(Senator Jim Webb is not an option…)

Today the Staunton NewsLeader printed my letter to the Editor and took care of this pressing question in choice of title to use. Above is the copy that the NewsLeader decided to print.

Below is the actual text that I submitted for print.

"The Delegates stood up to Governor Kaine who wants to once again raise our taxes after promising not to during his campaign and claims that there is a transportation "crisis". Democratic Governor Kaine wants to raise taxes again even when we have a billion dollar plus surplus that he wants to save for a "Rainy Day" fund which sounds like another diversion of our tax money.Times are tough. But we are fortunate to have leaders who stand up and make tough decisions for what is right for us and our future…"

Notice what the Staunton Newsleader decided to print, or failed to print, when I named Governor Tim Kaine as the man who wants to once again raise the taxes on Virginia taxpayers when we already have a billion dollar surplus?

Seems the Staunton NewsLeader decided it was best NOT to identify Governor Tim Kaine as the Democrat that he is and member of the party who continues to strive for higher taxes…

Freedom of speech, religion, etc...

Harrisonburg, VA.

Last week in Harrisonburg Virginia a story surfaced of a man who was fired from his job at Cargill for having the above message on the window of his truck. The link to the story is as follows and goes into more detail. The Marriage Amendment will be voted on this election in Virginia on November 7th and has become a hot issue at times. It supports the marriage between one woman and one man and has surfaced in many different forms in the area. Seems the "Progressives" have a problem with this amendment and in fact their candidate for Virginia Senate Jim Webb is against it. Many people have come out stating that it is in the Virginia Constitution already and does not need to be voted on. The problem here is that they fail to mention States like Mass who has had Liber Progressive Judges who have determined these laws to be un-contitutional and we now have Gay marriage in that state.

On RightsideVA I had a post about this issue http://rightsideva.blogspot.com/2006/09/how-to-vote-and-what-not-to-vote-for.html at which time I had an election official tell me that I did not need to vote for the marriage amendment because it was already law.

The Harrisonburg newspaper the Daily News Record had several articles on this issue.

"Padilla, 40, supports the marriage amendment. On his truck’s rear window he wrote, "Please, vote for marriage on Nov. 7."

Not that radical, not over the line, and seems to be a simple statement to me...

"Let's try to keep up here Dave"...

Manassas VA.

Had the opportunity today to go up to Manassas Airport to hear Senator George Allen as well as Senator John Warner and VA Attorney General Bob McDonnell speak. I also noticed NBC Reporter David Gregory circling the area and waiting for Senator Allen to complete his speech so he could interview the Senator. Senator Allen was at the airport to receive the endorsements of several VFW organizations and to talk about issues important to the citizens of Virginia before the election in 3 weeks.

Senator Allen spoke about the importance of the war on terrorism and the important front we have on this war in Iraq as well as preparing the Iraqi people to take control of their country and new democracy. He spoke of the importance of this war and that the threats are real and we will not get a second chance and if the terrorist in Iraq are given an opening they will hit again. “Jim Webb will give them that opening”.

Senator Allen continued and spoke about many important issues and then concluded his speech and thanked those gathered there. I then noticed David Gregory move over to interview the Senator and was able to find a spot to get a photo and hear the exchange. Senator Allen started the interview stating the important issues concerning the citizens of Virginia as well as the United States.

I could see that Gregory was not interested at all with the facts and the issues and as soon as he could he brought up the “Maccaca” issue and how it will effect the election. Senator Allen was polite but also quick to return the conversation to the issues and the facts. Gregory once again did not seem interested and followed up with the question of how the Senator feels the voters will feel about him since he supported President Bush so often. Senator Allen stated that he felt confident that the voters will support him favorably and only wished the President “agreed with him more often”. Classic line and reply and Gregory lost interest in the interview right away. Doubt much of the interview will actually make it to broadcast for Gregory did not get the “gem” he was looking for.

It is unfortunate that Gregory, as well as the MainScream media and many LOCAL newspapers do not see that Senator Allen is talking the important issues and what he will do when he is re-elected by the people of Virginia. They seem to ignore that Jim Webb continues to avoid the true issues and has the support of the MainScream\Local media in doing this. Thanks for reading the blogs and talking with the people who attend functions and get the truth out…

Was not sure what show Gregory was with now so did a search on Google. Found many things that he has done over the years and there are too many to list here now but did see this listing which brought back memories of his actions…

"NBC White House correspondent David Gregory, who apologized last week for calling White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan a "jerk," called into MSNBC's IMUS Thursday morning — apparently drunk!"
