"Born Fighting" - Campaign Finance Reform?...

C.F.R

"In his first work of nonfiction, bestselling novelist James Webb tells the epic story of the Scots-Irish, a people whose lives and...."

Anybody notice how fast Jim Webb stated that "Born Fighting" was a term used to describe Scots-Irish people after Senator Allen referred to "Born Fighting" as Webb's campaign motto during the recent debate? Earlier today before the debate a friend pointed out to me the motto "Born Fighting", which is used in the Webb campaign and is seen on many signs all over the place, is also the title to one of the books written by Jim Webb. He also questioned if this is a violation of the Campaign Finance Reform that went thru awhile back by promoting the campaign in a indirect way...

I also found it interesting that there was talk of limiting the use of the "Born Fighting" a few weeks back by the campaign and that it would not be used anymore. And now Webb is quick to state that it is a term to describe Scots-Irish people when used during a campaign debate. Another interesting thing I found was that if you go to James Webb.com website you will find a full description of Webb's books and links to buy this same book alongwith a link to the Webb for Senate website...

Way to Rally the Troops...

Staunton VA.

It seems that several of the Marriage Amendment signs have gone missing in the Staunton City area and pulled from residents front lawns and other high profile areas. It will not be a big problem to replace these for there is much support for this amendment and issue but this act of thievery has brought on a surprising groundswell of support and determination. The act of theft along with the intrusion onto private property has resulted in a new and stronger determination by many who had their signs stolen... Many have been replaced and here are just a few back out there getting the message out... For more information go to the website: www.va4marriage.org ...

Liberal Arts -Drama-

Staunton Drama

Over at "The Common Man" he has a post about a recent discussion by a local Drama teacher and several students about the marriage amendment coming up on the next ballot. Take a look at some of the statements made by the teacher in front of our students and see what you think. She does state "I’m looking out for your future and for your children’s’ futures"

It is interesting that she makes this comment after some of the other things she says in front of the students...

It's getting tougher and tougher to grow up these days...
