Waynesboro Republican Party Headquarters ~Opening~

.

The Waynesboro Republican Committee had their Headquarters 2008 Grand Opening today at 901-s Broad Street in the Willow Oaks Plaza (right next to Barnwell and Jones Realty).

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies opened the headquarters to a rather large crowd outside including the Lt. Governor Bill Bolling and Delegate Steve Landes...

Waynesboro Republican Committee Chairman Chris Darden and son Jackson...

Virginia Delegate Steve Landes...

Virginia State Senator Ken Cuccinelli, 37th district...

Lt. Governor Bill Bolling delivered an inspiring speech regarding the upcoming elections in November as well as important elections of 2009.

He was interrupted at one point where he announced after looking at Blackberry that MSNBC had just reported Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain had just announced Mitt Romney as his Vice-President running mate...

The Lt. Governor then checked CNN and informed the crowd that they also just reported that John McCain had announced his running mate but that it was Tim Pawlenty from Minnesota...

This resulted in the Lt. Governor jumping over to FoxNews for confirmation at which time he happily informed the crowd that John McCain had just announced Bill Bolling from Virginia as his actual running mate...

Augusta County Republican Election Guide...

.

I recently had the opportunity to peruse the new Republican Election guide designed, developed, and provided by the new Augusta County Republican Committee and found it to be of outstanding quality and accuracy…

Yankee Phil has some nice scans of the tri-fold that show the quality of this piece which will be a valuable tool to the candidates, their campaigns, and the voters of Augusta County.

I admit I had reservations of the “new” AC Republican Committee after the recent “mass meeting” and it’s outcome and installation of a new executive committee, but this is the work of several dedicated members of the Republican party and their desire to advance the Republican Party and its candidates…

It is refreshing and encouraging to see members of this “new” committee to step up and produce an item that will aid in informing the public for the upcoming elections…

Sam Rasoul Takes a "Pass"?...

.
Media reports are coming in that Democratic Candidate Sam Rasoul "chose" not to speak in Lynchburg last week when the Democratic Party Presidential candidate came to HIS district for a campaign appearance(?)...

“I was just happy to be there with all those wonderful people and help spread our message,” he said, adding he felt “sure” he would have been asked to speak had he confirmed his attendance earlier.

Roanoke Valley Republicans have another take on the lack of inclusion at this event in Lynchburg along with a running history of SAM's appearances in the 6th district...
I also find it odd that if the Top guy in the Democratic Party right now comes to your district for a campaign appearance you make sure you are available to appear with him. Also photos are a great tool in campaigning and any photos with the Democratic Party Presidential candidate would be plastered all over your campaign website....
More "???" for SAM...
