Some more Questions for "SAM" Salam Rasoul....
SAM and his campaign has been very active in using “You-Tube” as a campaign media outlet and in fact has pushed to use this format to deliver a debate between the Congressman and himself. In the past SAM has questioned the ability for political polls to reach those without “landline” telephones and blames this for his low polling numbers. By using the “You-Tube” format to deliver the desired debate how will this be available to those without computers, high speed connections, or knowledge of “You-Tube”?…
There is another problem with using “You-Tube” as a political debate format. As you can see in the following “Changes” video from You-Tube you will find that this format, along with the ability for just about anybody to post edited or “Doctored” vide clips, will provide those wishing to “Change” the actual statements during a debate a format to do so.
SAM has been asked some questions already in prior posts on this site and many of these questions are ones that should have been asked by the local media attending the event. At times it seems that the media has failed to ask the needed follow up as they should of SAM as they have also failed to ask the hard questions of OBAMA…
One of the more pressing questions of SAM is why there is such a high percentage of “outside” money supporting his campaign? YANKEE PHIL has an excellent piece, and here, on this subject and has dug deeper into the issue to even question the people who are contributing to a campaign in the 6th district. SAM has been sure to mention the people of the 6th district that he has spoken to but is there a reply to the question of many from outside the district who are supporting him???

"Wing-Nuts"...
Free Republic reports:
"One of Barack Obama's elite fundraisers from the anti-American group Code Pink attempted to storm the stage last night during Republican vice presidential nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the GOP convention in St. Paul."
"Jodie Evans, one of a group of about 500 top financiers who have bundled tens of thousands of dollars for the Obama campaign was seized by the Secret Service after she had made her way to side of the stage and and started to yell at Palin."
"Evans has bundled between $50,000 and $100,000 for Obama as well as contributing the maximum $2300 to Obama's presidential primary campaign. She co-hosted Obama's breakout Hollywood fundraiser at the start of his campaign in February 2007."
"As a bundler, Evans has been given perks that include regular briefings by top campaign staffers on policy and private meetings with Obama and his vice presidential candidate Joe Biden."
"Evans is infamous in conservative and military family circles for publicly endorsing the terrorists in Iraq against the American soldiers who toppled Saddam Hussein and have fought to keep free Iraq from falling to the hands of Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups and nations."
"Evans has worked with state sponsors of terrorism including the governments of Castro's Cuba and the the late Saddam Hussein. She has also met with Venezualan dictator Hugo Chavez and has professed her "love" for him."
"SAM's" Funding...
Rasoul is correct when he says balancing the budget is a matter of “national security” but is it not the Congress that is responsible for spending and that Congress has been led by the Democratic Party? Many from the “Leftside” have continued to bring up the amounts spent on the war on terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan citing this as a result of out of control spending when in fact this and military spending is a small fraction of the federal budget. The responsibility of the federal budget is national security, secured borders, infrastructure, and the likes. Instead our budget has grown into a massive funding project for thousands of projects and programs that should instead be funded states, private funds, and user fees. Rasoul’s own statement of “maybe through a grant process, where we have funding appropriated to museums, to theaters, to flood reduction projects, but we do it in a responsible way.” puts museums and theaters before flood reduction?
Rasoul also stated that he would not accept campaign contributions from lobbyists or PACs so he could “look into the eyes of the members of the 6th District and America and say I am representing you as an individual”. He also said “nor will I allow anyone’s national agenda to be barked down to us right here in the 6th District.” But in looking at where Rasoul’s campaign contributions are coming from we find that a high percentage, in the area of 80-90% of this money is coming from outside of the 6th district and Virginia. Why are these “outside” sources funding Rasoul and what are they looking for in return? It is admirable to say that you are not taking direct support from PAC’s or the likes but the Democratic Party Candidates have proven numerous times in the past that campaign funding can come in many different forms. Remember the numerous instances of campaign funds being “bundled” from questionable sources? Remember the minimum wage dishwashers who made maximum contributions to Hillary during her campaign? Remember “Charlie” from China who delivered millions to Hillary’s husband and Al Gore during their campaigns?…

Buena Vista Labor Day Parade ~2008~
"It you're a candidate and you're not in Buena Vista on Labor Day, you won't win the election."
Yesterday was the Labor Day Parade in Buena Vista and I had the opportunity to walk with and promote numerouse strong Conservative Republican candidates of Virginia. I was also fortunate to work with and spend time with many fine Republican volunteers from Rockbridge and Augusta County and from the candidates campaigns...
Scott Winfield of Augusta County
Governor Jim Gilmore delivered the first speech of the day at which point he provided numerous reasons why we need strong conservative leadership in the Senate.
Gilmore continued to emphasize energy policy, particularly his support for oil drilling offshore and in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He walked the parade route alongside a makeshift "oil rig" on a float and signs that read, "Drill Here, Drill Now, Vote Gilmore" and "ANWR or bust!"
I was disapointed to find that none of the newspapers reporting on this event provided the quote where Governor Gilmore advised those in attendance that then Democratic Governor Mark Warner chose to veto a bill allowing drilling for known American Oil reserves off the coast of Virginia...
The local media did elect to provide a quote from Warner
"Warner called for a comprehensive energy policy that would allow offshore oil drilling while also boosting investments in developing alternative sources. He favors the elimination of Bush tax cuts that only benefit the wealthy, his campaign said."
"Warner said the top issue is the economy, and said a stronger economy will also help with national security. “We have to keep the country protected, and one of the ways is with a strong economy,” he said."
My disapointment here is that the reporter did not question Warner on how he would provide a "Stronger Economy" with his history of tax increases while Governor of Virginia...
Congressman Bob Goodlatte rallied the crowd to the Republican efforts on the floor of Congress to debate a comprehensive energy plan that includes drilling for known American oil reserves in ANWR and off the coast of Virginia...
The Republican members of the house continue to keep the issue alive on the floor of Congress while the Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the House "Democrats" remain on their FIVE WEEK vacation...
Numerous media interviews after the event...
