Bob McDonnell at Rockingham County Fair ~2009~

Local Republican supporters and volunteers gather to meet Bob McDonnell at the Rockingham County Fair yesterday...

Bob McDonnell is met and greeted by Delegate Matt Lohr and numerous other local Republican Party representatives. Delegate Lohr is the House Representative for this area and knows the RockFair well from being a farmer himself...

Also at the Rockingham Fair was Candidate Dickie Bell who is running for the Delegate seat of the 20th district and Delegate Steve Landes who is running for re-election in the 25th House District...

The Rockingham Republican booth at the fair...
Very impressive presentation and staffed with many energetic volunteers who engage fair visitors and discuss national, state, and local issues...

At every fair there must be a clown. This is a familiar clown that has worked this fair for many years and is seeked out by many returning fair-goers...
It was reported that there was another "Clown" in the area this day but he decided not to show up to the largest fair in the Valley...

Every afternoon there was a parade and this opportunity was used by the Candidates to meet and talk with those who they represent. Numerous times during these parades people attending the fair would call out greetings to their Representatives and take the opportunity to talk about local and state issues on the side of the parade route...

Delegate Steve Landes with son Roth, and wife Angela at the Republican booth...

Rockingham County Fair 2009... ~Rockingham County Republican Party~

.

Once again the Rockingham County Republican Party assembled another outstanding fair booth to support the Republican Candidates for this years Team GOP~VA 2009...

The booth was well staffed and busy each time I stopped by during the afternoon and many signs, stickers, balloons, information, and contacts were provided to those stopping by the booth...

Bob McDonnell's wife Maureen was the guest of honor and stopped by to visit the booth as well as ride in the afternoon parade with numerous local candidates. She and her message about her husband Bob McDonnell Candidate for Virginia Governor, was very well received and she spent a substantial amount of time talking with fair visitors and staff...

Maureen Mcdonnell was joined by Delegates Matt Lohr and Steve Landes for the parade who all then spent time visiting and speaking with people in the crowds about issues that concern many in the Shenandoah Valley and how we are represented in Richmond by these representatives...

Candidate for the Delegate seat representing the 20th district, Dickie Bell and his wife Anne, also attended the fair on this night and spent time talking with the people from the district he strives to represent. He is well known in the area and received a good reception from those he spoke with while visiting the fair and Republican booth...

Still trying to get here...

Hard to believe but with all of the problems that we now face here in the United States, people continue to paddle across 70 miles of shark infested waters to get here. Above is a photo of a Cuban raft that was found South of Key West by a friend who runs Light Tackle Sportfishing boat out of Key West and the lower Keys...

.

Captain Mike of the Compass Rose found the above raft when he was fishing for Wahoo with his charter. This is not uncommon and I saw plenty back when I worked and fished the Florida Straits as a Captain\Mate on the SeaBoots out of Summerland Key...

.

The real question here is why would these people be leaving the perfect, government run, all provided, No cost, all inclusive, single payer healthcare system that Cuba has and many here desire, only to paddle across 70 miles of shark infested waters?....

Augusta County Fair at EXPO ~2009~

Took a ride over to Expoland near Fishersville for the opening night of the Augusta County Fair and found Delegate Ben Cline with Republican volunteers Frank Bridgeforth, Anne Fitzgerald, and Matt Fitzgerald at the Augusta County Republican booth. The booth looked good and located in a high traffic area of the building and already attracting much attention on the first night. People from all over the county and Staunton\Waynesboro were stopping and looking for signs and info on the candidates...
.
With this being the major fair for the "S.A.W" area,
Staunton~Augusta County~Waynesboro, it was good to see volunteers from all three parts of S.A.W at the booth and a stronger bond then in the past. By consolidating efforts between the three local committees we are much stronger and that has been evident in the parades, events, meetings, and public outreach for the Team GOP~VA...

Candidate Dickie Bell... 20th District....

Republican Candidate Dickie Bell for the 20th House District...
Dickie was at the monthly Republican Staunton~Augusta~Waynesboro "S.A.W" breakfast attended by a full house of local Conservative supporters at Mrs. Rowes...

Delegate Steve Landes spoke about his campaign for re-election to his House seat in the 25th district. He updated everybody on efforts to bring jobs to the Valley and the upcoming special session in Richmond. With that Landes also went over campaign strategy and ongoing efforts to take the message to the people in his district as well as the entire Shenandoah Valley...

Representatives from the Shenandoah Valley Tea Party Patriots were also onhand to talk about the upcoming bus trip to Washington D.C. on September 12th...
