Memorial Day Weekend 2006...

Point Pleasant NJ.

Had the opportunity to go to New Jersey to Scuba Dive with friends who are members of the Point Pleasant Rescue Dive Team in Point Pleasant NJ... While up there getting ready for a dive a rescue call came in with a report of a person caught in the "Jacks" of the Mannasquan Inlet Jetty...

Looks like they stay pretty busy. I wonder who makes those "Jacks"? I wonder how big the ball is.....

Your Federal Tax dollars at work back in the 60's trying to keep the inlet open for navigation. The interesting part is that we used to dive these Jacks alot and could tell when they had been moved by the Nor'easters and other strong surf conditions...

Halliburton.... Environmental protection?

They tell me those two never go together. Someday I will tell you about all of the $$$ spent taking sand from offshore to buil up the beaches to protect the shoreline but then get washed away every hurricane season....
