Super Bowl of "Blame Games"...

.

Once again the “Democratic” gang from Louisiana is shifting any blame coming at them concerning their “Debacle of Corruption” during the Katrina disaster. Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stated her mission of “Draining the Swamp of Corruption” once in office and here is the swamp she should be looking at. She needs to take a long hard look at the Democratic Party Senator Mary Landrieu, Democratic Governor Blanco, and Democratic Mayor Ray Nagin, their actions, lack of action, and their continuing comments shifting the blame and their responsibilities away from them…

“Senator Mary Landrieu’s outrageous outburst this morning in which she remarked that we ‘would have been better off if the terrorists had blown up our levees’ is the latest episode in a stream of recent Democratic blame-shifting and accusations."
http://www.bayoubuzz.com/News/Louisiana/Hurricane_Rita/Louisiana_U.S._Sen._Landrieu_Criticizes_State_GOP_Head_Over_Katrina_Barb__2692.asp

Then there is “School Bus” Democratic Mayor Ray Nagin, who failed to use hundreds of available schools buses for evacuation, continuing to blame everybody else whenever possible…

"(CNSNews.com) - New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin refuses to take his share of the responsibility for recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina, a conservative African American group said Wednesday."Mayor Nagin continues to do everything to deflect blame from himself," Project 21's Darryn "Dutch" Martin said in a statement. He accused Nagin, who testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee earlier this week, of "playing the race and class cards."
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPrint.asp?Page=/Politics/archive/200702/POL20070201a.html

Nagin replied, “You guys in New York can’t get a hole in the ground fixed, and it’s five years later. So let’s be fair,” MSNBC

Let’s not forget Democratic Governor Blanco who refused to activate the National Guard before the Hurricane made landfall.

But lets take a look at what happened with the “relief’ that was sent to the people of New Orleans and what they did with that aid from the Federal Government and the “Donations” given by the American citizens…
If Nancy wants to truly “Drain the Swamp” here is the perfect opportunity…

“WASHINGTON, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Fraud involving payments supposed to help victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita likely exceeds earlier estimates of $1 billion and only a tiny fraction of the money has been recovered, according to a U.S. government report released on Wednesday.”
The GAO cited incidents in which FEMA gave $17 million in housing assistance to individuals who had already obtained free housing in the form of trailers or apartments and $20 million that went to people who improperly claimed for help for both storms that ravaged the U.S. Gulf Coast area.”

Blog From on High has a good post about the recent disaster in Florida and how those people are picking up the pieces them selves and not looking for the government to “Feed” them
Where's FEMA? We're All Going To Die!
http://blogfromonhigh.blogspot.com/2007/02/wheres-fema-were-all-going-to-die.html

Now all blame should not go to the people in New Orleans or the Democratic Party leaders that they elected. Let’s not forget the advice they were getting from people like Randi Rhodes from her talk radio show on “Air-America”…

"Randi Rhodes repeatedly urged poor listeners in hurricane areas to loot away, avoiding discount centers and hitting the high-end stores”…

And let’s not forget MSNBC Chris Matthews comments about how Katrina demonstrated the need for an even larger Federal government. Or when CNN Wolf Blitzer played the famous “Race Card” that the Democrats love to pull out when he said “Had this happened in a predominately white community, the federal government would have responded much more quickly” (Please see above comments made on the “From on High” blog)

An interesting fact is how some communities pick themselves up after a disaster like in the Florida tornado disaster without waiting for the Feds to come feed them. Other communities fail to make preparations when the know a massive hurricane is coming and depend on the feds to take care of them. “ Many who suffered through the Convention Center misery were there not because their homes were flooded but because they were foodless: had these individuals merely kept a few days of supplies at home, they could have rested while others fretted”. (The Politics of Diaster by Marvin Olasky)

If Democratic Speaker of the House Pelosi wants to “Drain the swamp” she needs to look at the elected representatives in the Swamp down in New Orleans and the State of Louisiana. She also needs to look at the reasons why after all of the aid that has been provided to the people of New Orleans, there has always been a high rate of crime, fraud, and dependency on the Federal government as compared to other communities. If she needs help she can look at the following links provided on the FBI website:

It is only a swamp if it is someone else's property. If it is your property it is Welands. We all lmow that they will do anything to preserve the wetlands.....

Why are we rebuilding most of the low lying areas of New Orleans? We are going to end up rebuilding these homes probably alot nicer then they originally were, only to be flodded again. Rebuild but do it on higher ground. Leave the industry in the ports and the business buildings that were built to withstand floods like this. The oil industry and likes were back in business in no time once the power was restored. Keep the ports and the industrial areas there for they are established. Move the houses to higher ground and leave the "Swamp"...

That, is certainly the "Super Bowl" of posts....nice work-the big boys could learn a thing or two from "rightside"

That's a "chocolate city" you'll never see ME in.....I've heard New Orleans smells bad even before the flood, so what's there that could possibly attract me? Getting drunk? I think not.

....and watch, it'll still be Bush's fault. New Orleans is an accident waiting to happen.

Johnny Edwards now says that he will provide health insurance for all when he is President. He also says he will raise taxes to pay for it. What he fails to say is who will he raise taxes on...

Everybody?
Or just those who need to start paying their share fair???

New Orleans is now the murder capital of the US, from what I heard on the radio this morning. What a place to spend all the money we are spending.........

But yet they will not call on the leaders of New Orleans (Nagin, Louisiana Governor (Blanco). and Senator (Landy) as to why NO is this way. Sounds like they need an ex-mayor from New York City to go down there and clean up that "Swamp"...

I have no problem with helping the people of N.O. but yet when we see the fraud of these people it is evident why these people would\could not take care of themselves...

I thought "Progressives" were for the little guy that needed help?
