"Astronomical Abuser Fees"...

.

It was reported yesterday in several local newspapers that a individual with five previous convictions for driving under the influence was involved in another motor vehicle accident. Numerous people were injured and the above mentioned person had to be airlifted to a area hospital. This individual also refused a breathalyzer test at the scene of the accident which he apparantly caused...

Five Times?

Why is this guy even on the road after five convictions?

Is a "Abuser fee" of several thousand dollars appropriate in this situation?

If this person was confronted with a large fine after the first conviction could it have changed his actions before it got to this point?

What if this person could not have afforded the "Abuser Fee" that many have called unfair?

Would that make a difference to you if you were looking at this driver crossing into your lane and headed directly towards you?

With 5 DUI's he mostlikey didn't have a valid license. The fee verywell could have turned him around since this person obviously is not detered by criminal fines and charges, the civil abusive driver charges may have had an impact. Either way this guy should be behind bars (steel ones) not behind the wheel.

Todays paper said that he was to be charged with a 2nd offense since 10 years had passed since the prior convictions.

How did this guy get to Five at any rate?
