From what I understand the Shad is attached to the plank and then arranged vertically along the length of a fire pit and cooked over an extended period of time. This is a Indian tradition and the Wakefield Ruritan Club has been holding this event for 60 years now...

Also good to run into you and say hello. We had good weather and very good lighting for our photos and I hope to upgrade my camera to a "SLR" type with better lenses. Amazing whjat we can get out of the smaller ones we have but hard to adjust depth of field and low light conditions. Also like to provide a link back to your site:
