Democratic Party Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi took time out of her Five Week Vacation from her congressional duties to release the following statement regarding the nations energy crisis...
"Democrats offered a real solution to high energy prices that would bring immediate relief within 10 days by forcing the President to free our oil from the nation's stockpile. The Republicans propose to give away public lands to Big Oil, which will not immediately reduce the price at the pump and save Americans only 2 cents 10 years from now. This Republican hoax is unworthy of the serious debate we must have to reduce the price at the pump and promote energy independence."
Now lets take a look at the Speaker’s comments while she gets back to her Five Week vacation and we get back to a stalled congress. Pelosi claims that the “Democrats” will deliver immediate relief to drivers by calling for a release of oil from the nation’s strategic petroleum stockpile. A stockpile that was created and maintained in the event of a major disruption to the nation’s oil supply. Both Pelosi and Democratic Presidential Candidate Obama favor a release of 70-80 million barrels of oil for a immediate price reduction at the pumps…
Unfortunately neither Pelosi or Obama, and many of their supporters, do not understand basic economics and simple supply and demand when it comes to the energy situation. Pelosi claims that the Republicans propose to give away public lands to “Big-Oil” and this will do little and at least 10 years off…
First of all how did the Speaker determine that relief would not happen for ten years and how did she come to the calculating result of 2 cents? Simple knowledge of “Supply and Demand” shows that by releasing oil from the strategic stockpile will do nothing for our extended energy future for that release would do nothing towards an actual increase to the supply of oil to the United States. This 70-80 million barrels is already in inventory and part of a “static” inventory of energy. Burn that oil and how will it increase a actual or substantial increase in energy production? By releasing and using this strategic stockpile a temporary relief occurs but no increase of future energy production as compared to the call by the Republicans for additional drilling for known oil reserves which increases the actual energy inventory…
And how will releasing the strategic stockpile apply to “ the serious debate we must have to reduce the price at the pump and promote energy independence.” as stated by the Speaker? In her comments Pelosi also brought up other aspects of a comprehensive energy package that also must be included and should have been debated. A debate that Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic Party Comrades ran from on Friday when they closed down Congress so they could start their FIVE WEEK vacation…

Keep on pounding on them Rightside. Where are all the leftists that like to comment on this issue. Bottom line, they will not acknowledge that Dem policy is for high energy prices. They want to sock it to the US consumer because they want to impose extremist energy policies on us. (Of course it will not apply to them, the ruling elite). Have fun getting on them.
KOOCH
Truth is we all know that we must develop all forms of energy in the future that will work. Windmills are great but yet environmentalist refuse to allow them. They are clean energy but yet right now they only produce 20-25% of their rated potential. The wind no blow all the time. Ethanol has shown problems that "Stage One" thinkers never look at in the beginning. Hydrogen cars? Need infrastructure? Solar, etc? Great but you will not develop working models if you crash your economy which Pelosi and gand are doing now dragging their feet. Imagaine Obama and the economy he would bring on?
Gas consumption down for we will have no money or jobs to pay for it !!
