I see Jerry's still wearing orange, bless him. I wore his brilliant orange campaign shirts a lot last year. It always made me feel like I should be picking up litter along the highway.

I didn't mean for that to sound so snarky. I enjoyed the campaign work, just not the color of the shirts.

f mcdonald, it didn't sound snarky at all. As a volunteer for that campaign I COMPLETELY understand where you're coming from ... being a red, white, and blue person myself.

Shad Planking was more fun than I ever thought it would be. I ran into politicians, staffers, and activists from all over ... first person to speak with in the parking field was Ken Hutchison who ran the Kilgore campaign. Next person was Randy Marcus who ran the Bolling campaign. And so it went ... Trixie Averill and other fellow State Central members, Jean Ann Bolling and son Matt Bolling, Kristi of the Bolling campaign, Chaz (a fellow Valley-ite) with George Allen, Whitney Duff formerly with Chris Saxman and now with AFP, Chuck Slump formerly with Jerry Kilgore and now with Bob McDonnell, Chris Green who was SWAC's Bolling guy, Henley Folk who is former vice chair of Staunton City Republicans, Victoria Cobb with Family Foundation (looked for Steve Waters but didn't find him), Gil Davis who donated his time to help save Weekday Religious Education in Staunton last year -- even saw Tom Long who is the local Democrat Chairman. George Allen was handsome in his blue shirt, Jerry Kilgore was tanned and relaxed, and Bob McDonnell was his always-friendly self. And of course Rhonda Winfield and Rightside himself. Great day all around.

The shirt color and Orange color actually worked well for it was different from the rest. I would use it again the next time he runs for office...

It is a color that attracts attention. I used to live in Key West Florida and during Spring Break each year they had a special deal for Party People who had a little too much fun. Instead of being charged with Drunk walking, sitting, and just about anything related with Spring Break and too much drinking, the KW police would take you to the judge right downtown. There you could plead quilty and choose between paying a $150 fine (Sping Break Drinking $$$) or do 8 hours of community service. If you agreed to either one nothing went on your record and it stayed in KW.

The only problem was if you took the 8 hours community service you picked up trash on the beach in a Orange jumpsuit with "Monroe County (KW) Jail" printed on the back...

Seems many of these jumpsuits came up missing and taken home as souveniers....
