"This post has been removed by a blog administrator"....

.

Yankee Philip has always been good in the past to post on many interesting and current topics in the news with his blog and is usually open to comments and differing viewpoints. In fact he usually puts in a good amount of research into the topics that he posts about and incorporates numerous media formats including "You-Tube" and others...

There is no doubt that "Yankee Phil" has also lead the way in reporting by volume regarding the recent dismissal of committee members from the local Republican committee. These people who were dismissed from the committee had not attended at least three (3) of the last called committee meetings and were thus removed as per ACRC committee by-laws. These members were notified and advised of their removal by the Chairman Bill Shirley in proper form. Shirley is a well know local football coach and the best phrase I have heard is "If you are on the football TEAM and miss the last three (3) TEAM practices don't expect to be on the starting TEAM on Sunday"...

Several of those dismissed were also members of the "Executive" committee of the ACRC and took those positions understanding the importance of attending called meetings. Going into the recent mass meeting, where the ACRC elected Delegates to go to the upcoming Republican convention in May to elect candidates for the Republican ticket in November, many of these same ACRC members failed to attend called meetings preparing for the mass meeting. Even before these meetings there were several instances where some of these same members continued to disrupt and distract the proceeding's and efforts of the ACRC to move the local party forward...

Yankee Phil has obviously taken the lead in bringing this topic and debate to the blogworld with his numerous postings on this topic. This I believe is the choice of several hiding in the background of this incident. In fact it is interesting how the vice-chairwoman of communications, Lynn Mitchell (a.k.a. SwacGirl) has been silent on this issue while also being one of those dismissed because of not attending the last three (3) consecutive meetings. Yankee Phil with his numerous posts also routinely places high in the Blognetnews ratings something that he has replaced SwacGirl in doing so...

In the past Yankee Phil has been good at allowing comments to his posts that offer a different viewpoint or addition of other facts to the issue. In one of his original posts about this issue: http://yankeephilip.blogspot.com/2009/04/letter-from-swacgirl-to-augusta-repubs.html ... he even allowed comments regarding this original post by Spank That Donkey and myself, RightsideVA, which provided more information, facts, and question of the motive of this post. One of the facts\question brought up by Spank was why Lynn Mitchell (SwacGirl) and 6th district representative to State Central Committee, would not come before numerous Republican committees in the 6th district to discuss the Jeff Frederick issue before she cast her vote for removal of the Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia. Refusing to appear before those which she claims to represent....

I then followed up with a posted comment that provided additional information in regard to the actions and antics of those dismissed in prior meetings. Specifically I posted first hand observations and facts regarding the actions and antics of the prior ACRC chairman, Kurt Michael and his obvious attempts to disrupt, detract, and prevent the present ACRC from moving the local Republican Party forward in its efforts to support and elect Conservative representatives to office. Over the course of several ACRC meetings Kurt Michael continued to disrupt and prevent the ACRC meetings from conducting business by claiming parlimentary procedures and continued outbursts. This resulting in Michael and some of his followers walking out of called meetings and carrying on loudly into the halls of the Government Center where the meetings were being held. This has resulted in the ACRC now being required to hire a off-duty officer whenever the ACRC holds a meeting at the government center. Interestingly we have NOT had a use for this off-duty officer at anytime since Dr. Michael has missed at least three (3) consecutive meetings and the meetings have all been productive for those attending....

After a short time my posted comments of this above incident(s) was removed from the comment section of Yankee Phil's post and now all that appears is "This post has been removed by a blog administrator"... It is probably unfortunate that Yankee Phil has chosen to "Air this Laundry" in the public view of the BlogWorld but if this is the venue of choice lets get all of the facts out there to be seen...

After this post appeared I received a call from Yankee Phil who was dissapointed that I did not make a courtesy call regarding the removal of my comments and my response in a post.

After a hearty exchange between a boy who grew up in NJ and a former New York City police Lt., the issue was discussed in more detail with additional facts provided by both of us. At no time did I intend to accuse YP of any wrong doing and as I stated in my post he has been fair to many in the past with his blog policies.

I also hope that readers of both Yankee Phil and RightsideVA understand that there is always at least two sides to the story and considers all information presented...

Fortunately the phone call and conversation ended before we got to how the CAPS beat the ISLANDERS 5-3 in the last game... Now that would have been ugly...

RightSideVA you and I have frequently been on opposing sides of Republican issues in Augusta County, but personally I would like to think that we've been "OK", however you claim that you want both sides stated yet you've left out many details on this matter. It also seems that you've taken yet another opportunity to once again bring back your seemingly never ending hatred of former Chair Dr. Michaels and Vice Chair of Comm Mrs. Mitchell.

RightSideVA you've chossen to align yourself with people who have use em when ther convienient view of the bylaws and sooner or later that is going to backfire on Chairman Shirley and all those who follow him.

I would last like to say that bloggers can choose to say whatever they want in their respective blogs which is why I will question your view, but not criticize your blog.

Jason,

For one thing it has been my hopes to keep these issues out of the public forum of the blogs for it would be better served if this was taken care in actual ACRC meetings. Unfortunately it was introduced and promoted in the blogworld by several who have used this format in the past along with contacts and connections within the SSC and 6th district and thus only promoting "One side" of the story to those people...

I had hoped to avoid issues like this from being debated in the open blogworld but obviously only one side of the issue was being presented and promoted and that is not right.

As far as "Convienient" use of the bylaws and tactics I remind you of the first tactic used by Kurt Michael to prevent any other person being nominated as temporary chair during the past, now infamous, mass meeting when there was the quick 2 second nomination, second, and close to ensure Michael as temp chair...

Look back my friend, this is by far not a one sided issue and until all know that and note that we as are party will stumble along...

As far as a "hatred" for the two members that you mentioned I believe that is the wrong word. I think "Tolerance" would be better for it has gotten to a point where many are fed up with the manipulation and tactics used by these individuals to control and direct people. They have been doing it for years and there is a long list of very good people and strong grassroots workers who are now "on the otherside" because they saw the manipulation and treatment of others by M&M for what it was. A long list and you know many of the tactics used...

I daresay if you take the number that walked out of the meeting, as compared to the number of good, reasonable people who they have run out of the party with their antics, this was a pretty good trade-time to keep them away, let them do their own pet projects, (thinly disguised efforts to replace beyeler and shrewsbury with anyone- (even a democrat)- and move on. Hopefully some of the good people they ran away will come back. Who knows, maybe Scott Sayre would stand a chance if they weren't "supporting" him-

Sad part is several of those who walked out actually worked well with the committee once Kurt had stormed out and left the meetings prior to this. Once that influence was removed the meetings were productive and very civil. I hope that some will see the bigger picture and return to the local party to get the work done that we all know needs to be done. It's easy when you do not crave the power of the position and get that issue out of the way. Many people have done great work in the past when they did not worry about getting the credit or "Political Position" that some crave...

I believe it was Ronald Reagan who had the sign on his desk that said "It's amazing what can get done as long as nobody is worried about who gets the credit"...

Lynn Mitchell requires SO MUCH ATTENTION. She is the true definition of an attention whore.

Did you notice she no longer allows anon comments, or open ID? I wonder if it was bc people kept emailing the newspaper and other politocs about all the controversy she is mired in now and in the past. Or maybe it’s bc someone finally found that false police report she filed against Mike Stark…
