Took a ride out near Thomas West Virginia to look at the windfarm out there that has been operating for sometime now. The wind was 12-15knts and the view of many wind towers was impressive and worth the ride. Stopped and talked to several area residents and heard no direct complaints of the wind farm and only a mention of people living next to the towers hearing noises at times but nothing to complain about.
I have read many times that the major problem with these wind towers are complaints from those who do not want them to be visible. Ted Kennedy is gonna have a cow! That is if his fat a$$ can still see out the windows of his Limo as he and Bob Byrd polish off a few bottles en route to WV for some extracurricular activities...
Put a couple of these in front of the leading dem candidates and the energy crisis solved!
My biggest problem with the windmills isn't the windmills themselves. It's the fact that NONE of the electricity produced stay's in West Virginia. It's all shiped off to Pennsylvania and Maryland. Why is it everything built in WV is owned by someone outside the state. Do we not have enough businessmen with balls enough to build things themselves here in the state.
I did not know that the product was being exported for the main problem with electricity production is the loss from transit. If you have a link to this showing that the electric is sent out of state please include it and I will post it.
