"If 30 seconds is a full day, no wonder Congress has got a lot of work to do."

.

In a Monday morning Rose Garden statement on congressional priorities, President Bush taunted that "in a political maneuver designed to block my ability to make recess appointments, congressional leaders arranged for a senator to come in every three days or so, bang a gavel, wait for about 30 seconds, bang a gavel again, and then leave. Under the Senate rules, this counts as a full day.

"If 30 seconds is a full day," the president said, "no wonder Congress has got a lot of work to do."

Thank Heavens Congress has found enough backbone to do this.

For too long President Bush has acted like a dictator, a king. The world according to Bush is that he commands it and everyone else has to go along (even when it is total lunacy and based on lied....like an Iraq invasion...oh yeah...Bush and Cheney now want to lie us into Iran.....

Bush has been notorious for using the recess to put unacceptable candidates into office.

This is America...an alleged democracy with checks and balances....hopefully Bush will have no more recess appointments to get around Congress....and hopefully Congress will get the guts to hold this President and Vice President accountable for their unlawful behaviors.
