Ron Paul "Revolution" in Harrisonburg?

.

Recently I have been seeing numerous Ron Paul 2008 signs around Harrisonburg and have found several 20 “Somethings” at work talking about his campaign and issues. It has been interesting talking issues with people who were 14 years old when 9/11 happened and to hear their perspective on this and the war on terrorism.

The interesting thing is that a civil debate and conversation can happen with these Ron Paul’s supporters resulting in a productive exchange of ideas and opinions. Unlike many discussions with “Progressives” of the same age that fall back on “Bush lied us into the war” and refuse to discuss issues or facts that they do not agree with. These same “Progressives” are now arguing at work that Iran should be allowed a nuclear bomb because if we have them everybody should be allowed to posses a nuke. Ask them about Iran’s top guy calling for the destruction of Israel and America and they say everybody is allowed to their own opinion…

I have found it refreshing to discuss issues with people who are voting for the first time and interested in the actual issues instead of rallying around the most recent “MTV Voter Drive” agenda. While not agreeing with many of Ron Paul’s stances on the issues, I find it interesting to talk with potential new voters hungry for information about an election that will surely shape their future.

I have also found it interesting to discuss issues with people who are voting for the first time and interested in the actual issues instead of rallying around the most recent “MTV Voter Drive” agenda. While not agreeing with many of Ron Paul’s stances on the issues, I find it interesting to talk with potential new voters hungry for information about an election that will surely shape their future.

Members of the Ron Paul “Revolution” have been criticized for their appearance at functions and maybe being a little loud at times but it is good to see them interested in conservative issues. I personally do not believe that Ron Paul is the best Republican candidate but I do welcome the interest in conservative issues that he has generated in many younger voters.

Remember this guy?...

.

Remember the Democratic Party Representative from Louisiana, William "Cold-Cash" Jefferson, who got caught with the $90,000 cash in his freezer?

"A federal judge has set the corruption case of Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) for Feb. 25.U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis reluctantly granted Jefferson's lawyer's request for a continuance. But he gave them an extra six weeks instead of the four months they sought".

"The nine-term congressman is accused of taking more than $500,000 in bribes and demanding millions more for himself and his family members from 11 different companies interested in securing business contracts in Africa".

“Now how can we punish those evil pharmaceutical companies”?…

.

They have mentioned it once or twice already. Worked it into a comment in passing. Blamed it on the evil Republican administration. And you can be sure they will highlight their “remedy” once we get closer to the 2008 Presidential election for they believe it is a great vote getter…

It’s the Democratic Party’s war on evil pharmaceutical companies who have unacceptable profits earned from overcharging the American people. They believe it as well as the voters who do not understand simple economics and the free market system and believe the Democrats who tell them they are being gouged by the pharmaceutical companies. It’s so much easier to believe and act the “Victim” and to vote for those who promise to give you something that another has worked in producing… The Democratic Party has a whole playbook full of “Victim” tactics to convince the weak to vote for them…

“If you rob from Paul and give it to Peter, you can count on Peter’s vote in the future”…

Doug Bandow has a great article in the Washington Times that provides the facts and data the Democratic party representatives fail to mention or provide for this data does not fit the game plan. The Democratic candidates do not want you to know how much it costs a pharmaceutical company to bring a new drug to market for that would show where those obscene “Profits” are being reinvested into research and development of new life saving drugs…
http://www.washingtontimes.com/article/20071214/COMMENTARY/112140026/1012

“Patients are the ruling's biggest beneficiaries, because medicines do not magically appear on the market. To develop them, pharmaceutical firms spent $55 billion on research and development (R&D) last year. Few prospective drugs make it to market — 5,000 to 10,000 are tested for every one approved. So the few successful medicines have to pay for all the other costs — including the costs of defending against demagogic politicians seeking to control prices. Medicines that do make it to market are estimated to cost $800 million on average to develop“.

The democrats would rather have you believe that the American people are being overcharged so that the pharmaceutical companies can make obscene profits for their shareholders. It’s easier to thrive on the peoples fears then it is to explain and support programs that provide the life saving drugs to Americans and the worlds populations. There are more votes to be had from the weak who do not understand simple economics then to explain why other countries pay less for the same drugs. Would the Democratic party rather have third world countries pay the same rates and thus prevent millions of people from having access to life saving drugs?

“So why do some drugs cost less in other countries? One reason is different economic circumstances. Most people in developing nations cannot afford to buy drugs at developed nation rates. Lowering the price in poorer countries makes it possible for people there to have access to important medicines, while allowing drug makers to have sales they otherwise would not“.

The Democratic party would rather have you believe that we are paying higher rates so “the rich get richer” instead of showing how American pharmaceutical companies have delivered life saving drugs and procedures to the world’s population.

“These countries free ride on U.S. R&D. That may not be fair to American consumers, but punishing the pharmaceutical industry with price controls will not solve the problem. To the contrary, doing so would reduce the availability of new medicines. That is because if those same drugs were sold at the lower price in the U.S., they would not have been developed in the first place. You cannot spend $55 billion on R&D if you make only pennies for your products in your most important market“.

The Democratic party is not interested in telling you this for they would rather have you feel the victim and vote for them. They promise to hold these evil pharmaceutical companies responsible for their obscene profits as long as you vote them into the power they crave. But at the same time they fail to tell you what will happen in the future if they succeed.

“Moreover, no one knows what cures will not be developed. The trade-off is cheaper drugs for voters today versus unrecognized deaths and hardship for the unborn in the future“.

The “Drug Card” will be played, once again, in the near future…

What if "Hillary" was in charge?...

.

Investor’s Business Daily pointed out the report about another successful missile defense test that was ignored by the mainstream media. The mainstream has been quick to report\discuss the recent National Intelligence Estimate which “Estimates” that Iran stopped it’s work on Nuclear weapons approximately three years ago. But yet Iran has worked hard to develop missile technology to deliver some type of warhead in the near future…

"Advances in missile defense, like good news from Iraq, are things the mainstream media and Democrats ignore. So you may not have heard that an Air Force F-16 successfully destroyed a ballistic missile in its boost phase using an air-to-air missile.
One would think that those who think President Bush is once again trying to conjure up an excuse for war, this time with Iran, would embrace missile defense. The ability to shoot down an Iranian Shahab on a trajectory toward Israel would make a pre-emptive strike on Iranian nuclear installations less likely".

It is good news that the Iranians have stopped(?) their efforts to develop a nuclear weapon but what about their work to develop a missile system that could deliver a nuclear warhead given to them or purchased on e-bay?

"Democrats want us to think the recent National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) puts to rest the issue of an Iranian nuclear threat. But the operative word here is "estimate" and the first rule of estimates is that they are usually wrong. Like Hitler before him, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced his intentions".

"According to news reports, Monday's test at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico involved an F-16 fighter that fired two modified AIM-9X missiles at the target, an Orion research rocket. The first missile hit and destroyed the target. The second recorded the intercept and was also on a trajectory to hit the target".

"But Democrats in Congress want to gut missile defense and have repeatedly slashed Bush's funding requests. If they don't want us to bomb Iran, do they at least want to defend America and its allies"?

Very good read at IBD:

"If 30 seconds is a full day, no wonder Congress has got a lot of work to do."

.

In a Monday morning Rose Garden statement on congressional priorities, President Bush taunted that "in a political maneuver designed to block my ability to make recess appointments, congressional leaders arranged for a senator to come in every three days or so, bang a gavel, wait for about 30 seconds, bang a gavel again, and then leave. Under the Senate rules, this counts as a full day.

"If 30 seconds is a full day," the president said, "no wonder Congress has got a lot of work to do."

"And now for a question from a undecided, independent, non-affiliated, voter"

.
It has been noted that the Democratic Party Presidential candidates have refused to participate in any debate moderated by FoxNews for fear of tough or “unfair” questions being asked of them.

This after it being discovered that “selected” campaign staff members or the likes have been inserted into Hillary Clinton events to ask the candidate favorable or “appropriate” softball questions of her. Look at what Clinton and her staff did to Tim Russert when he asked a simple question that “Stepped over” her line of comfort. Wolf Blitzer got his warning and was a good boy when the time came.

And then there was this past weeks CNN\YouTube Republican Party Presidential candidate debate where over 5,000 video questions were submitted for CNN to choose from. Robert Bluey from The Heritage Foundation has some interesting observations of the choices made by CNN:

“The network had nearly 5,000 to choose from -- plenty to get a good representation of a variety of issues. Instead, we heard three questions about guns, a question attacking trade, another about the North American Union, a question about The Holy Bible and two each on abortion and homosexuality. By the time Anderson Cooper got around to introducing a question about the Confederate flag, it was time to click off the TV“.

Unlike the Democratic Party candidates, the Republican Party candidates participated in a televised debate to give the voters of the United States to see their performance and understand the candidates positions on issues. Unfortunately CNN once again concentrated on the potential damaging questions in hopes of tripping up the Republican candidates instead of providing a forum for serious discussion.

“What was missing? There wasn’t a single question about America’s energy policy, the environment, entrepreneurship or education. Despite this being the most tech-savvy debate in terms of format, there were no questions on net neutrality or telecom policy. Most alarming was the complete omission of the single biggest public policy debate taking place in Washington today: health care“.

Fortunately the voters and citizens of the United States are viewing the true agenda of some mainstream media outlets like CNN and Clinton with her “stacking” the deck at her events…

Imagine if it was possible to get Hillary and the other Democratic Party candidates in front of a moderator that would ask the questions that the Citizens of the United States would truly like to hear? What would happen if there was a moderator who had the tough and appropriate follow-up question after the candidate had spun themselves out from under the initial question? Tim Russert is good, but imagine if he had the freedom to ask the questions the way he wanted?

I encourage you to post questions that you would like asked of the Democratic Party candidates at the next debate. It’s not going to happen but can you imagine?

U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission *Your Tax Money at Work*

.

Have you ever thought about what all of those people working in Government offices up in Washington D.C. do during the day? Ever thought about what they use the equipment, servers, and other taxpayer provided items for? Ever thought about how that taxpayer time (labor) is being spent?

A often returning commentator to numerous posts appearing on this blog has been a person identifying himself as “Dignan” and has spent considerable time recently. By simply checking the comment areas to recent posts regarding the “Media on thin ice” post about global warming and then again at the post about “Increased sun activity = Global Warming?”, you will find numerous posts from a person identifying himself as “DIGNAN”…

As the author of this blog I allow commentators to post their responses, views, information, and talking points even if they do not agree with the authors original post. I do not allow commentators to insult or name call other commentators if they are out of line but I give much “room” to slurs against this author. This tends to show the integrity and agenda of the insulting commentator but I feel it would not be appropriate to allow insults targeted toward other commentators who take the time to present their views. As you read DIGNAN’s comments please note that this author has not “returned the favor” or stooped to that level.

A interesting thing that I have been following is the location and server that this commentator “DIGNAN” has been using to post to this blog. At first I did not bring it to light for I thought DIGNAN would have stopped posting after the normal period, but “DIGNAN” has continued to take considerable time and effort in avoiding the two simple questions in the posts.

As apparent in the following tracking information, “Dignan” seems to be using the internet server provided by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission and the location is listed as Washington (District of Columbia). Now this does not indicate that “Dignan” is spending valuable taxpayer bought time (Labor) composing and transmitting verbal insults towards this blogs author, but it does show the use of the governments (Taxpayers) internet server. But it also does not prove that “Dignan” is not spending considerable taxpayers bought time (Labor) in doing so. By noting the time of “Dignans” tracking information you can see that these times correlate with “Dignans” comments to the issues posted…

Interesting example of how the taxpayers money is being spent on equipment, internet servers, and possible payroll… The website for the SEC is large and vast and it will be interesting to see how they respond to this...

Democratic Party Nomination Poll ~Iowa~

.

The Democratic Party voters of Iowa have now decided to support Obama over Hillary in the upcoming primary as per the recent ABC\Washington Post poll...

This poll indicates that the Democratic Party voters of Iowa would rather elect a candidate that refuses to salute\recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States, instead of a candidate who claims vast experience in the Oval office environment but will not release the documents to prove it…

Increased Sun activity = Global warming?...

.

1996-06-16 1998-06-04 1999-12-16

Has V.P Al Gore been told about this?
You would think so but it seems the V.P. and many from his group just choose to ignore other data\studies that do not agree with his agenda. He has had numerous offers to debate this topic but instead has declared “The debate on Global Warming is closed” and has refused to participate in these debates.

“Gore’s reluctance to go toe-to-toe with global warming skeptics may have something to do with the - from the standpoint of climate change alarmists - unfortunate outcome of a global warming debate in New York last March. In the debate, a team of global warming skeptics composed of MIT scientist Richard Lindzen, University of London emeritus professor of biogeology Philip Stott, and physician-turned novelist/filmmaker Michael Crichton handily defeated a team of climate alarmists headed by NASA scientist Gavin Schmidt. Before the start of the nearly two-hour debate, the audience of several thousand polled 57.3 percent to 29.9 percent in favor of the proposition that global warming is a “crisis.” At the end of the debate, the numbers had changed dramatically, with 46.2 percent favoring the skeptical point of view and 42.2 percent siding with the alarmists.”
http://theclimatebet.com/

This is not uncommon for Rightside posted some information and links to studies that contradict the V.P.’s claims and agenda. And that there is a returning commentator who follows “The debate is closed” gameplan…
http://rightsideva.blogspot.com/2007/11/mainstream-media-on-thin-ice.html

The interesting thing is how this frequent commentator continues to make comments such as: “The grownups have long moved on”, “deny reality”, “When you start off with misleading arguments, it doesn't really help your credibility when you then switch to alternative arguments”, “talking points”, “Narrow minded”, and then goes on to attack the President. But like V.P. Gore, this commentator refuses to address two simple questions. If the sun’s activity has increased is it possible that this is responsible for documented increased temperatures on Earth and Mars? And how is it 35 years ago the media was reporting the “Cooling Crisis” in the 1970’s and how did we get to where we are now? Where will we be in another 35 years?

These questions have been ignored by many in the media, blog commentators, and it would be nice to see the “Global Warming Guru” Al Gore address these questions. RightsideVA, as well as many other bloggers and public, agree that the temperature has risen over the years but questions the claims that this is solely the result of manmade pollution. There is a considerable amount of data and studies showing that the environment is not static and is always changing.
The world temperature has been cooler hundreds of years ago, 35 years ago, and has changed overtime. We must look at the data and studies out there that contradict the “Guru’s” claim.

Ottie Cline Powell ~Thanksgiving Day 2007~

.

“This is the exact spot Little Ottie Cline Powell’s body was found April 5, 1891 After straying from Tower Hill School House Nov. 9. A distance of 7 miles. Age 4 Years, 11 Months“…

After spending some quality time this Thanksgiving day morning with the Nephew and Niece, two and four years old, I decided to change my ritual Thanksgiving day hike to a part of the Appalachian Trail near Buena Vista.
Had a great time with the sister’s kids and as I thought how fortunate we are to have children in a country where their futures are almost unlimited as far as they wish to go, it reminded me of the story of Ottie Cline Powell.

The Appalachian trail crosses over the Blue Ridge Parkway at 51.5 mile marker to the Western side of the mountain range after climbing 1,200 feet in about 2 miles you come to the top of Bluff Mountain. Located near the peak of Bluff Mountain is the above marker dedicated to Ottie Cline Powell…

Back in 1891 a small boy named Ottie Cline Powell went to his local school and wandered off into the woods while looking for firewood with other classmates never to return.

A school teacher from a school in nearby Buena Vista wrote of this incident in 1925 and the story was published. Here are selected sections of this published story to describe the incident.

http://www.jcpinkerton.com/people/ottie.html

“As the boys went hurrying out for a romp and jump, the kind teacher requested they bring back a small armful of dry wood for the morning’s fire.
The school house was located about seven miles east of the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near the foot of the hills“

The story goes on to describe the intense search by approximately 1,500 locals from all over who responded once they heard of the missing boy. One of these volunteers who knew Ottie well thought to use his dog who also knew Ottie well…

“Mr. Wood went home and brought the dog and put him on the little boy’s track where he had dropped his pole of wood. The dog seemed at once to know something had happened to little Ottie. Mr. Wood said that the dog at once took the trail and went toward the high peaks of the main ridge. The dog was gone so long that they thought he had left the trail and had gone off hunting for something else. For they did not think the little boy had gone so far and in that direction, and for this reason they did not follow the dog closely“.

“Mr. Wood told me that he believed the dog went to him that very night, as he was gone so long. I have no doubt from what Mr. Wood told me that the faithful old dog did go to little Ottie and wag his tail and lick his face, having found him asleep returned to his owner who sent him on the trail“.

About six months later four young men crossed over Bluff Mountain…

“But on the Sunday of April the 5th, as they approached this high peak, their dog having gone on ahead of them and was barking at something on top of this high peak, they thought they would go on to the top and see what the dog had found to bark at“.

Again with the dogs…

“As they walked up to him they could hardly believe their own eyes. It was the long-sought-for little Ottie Powell. This part of it seemed providential. These young men just seemed to be led this way, as they had no particular business to be traveling this rough trail on this Sunday“.

In search and rescue it is stressed to pinpoint the last known exact location of the missing person and concentrate on this area. In Scuba Search and Rescue victims are often found within 100 feet of the last confirmed known location. For small Ottie to travel over 7 miles is incredible and the arrow in the above photo shows the location of Buena Vista as seen from the peak of Bluff Mountain where Ottie was found. A distance of 5.75 miles…

"What seemed to puzzle them was how a little fellow like him, less than five years of age, climbed over such rocks, hedges and cliffs to this lofty peak. The altitude is 3350 feet on the line of Rockbridge and Amherst County. From this peak can be seen three county seats, Amherst, Lexington, and Bedford city. Also the city of Buena Vista and Lynchburg“.

It is commomn practice for hikers along the Appalachian Trail to leave Toys and items for Ottie at the marker. This story and landmark appears in many of the trail guides and hikers have been known to carry items for long distances to leave "Something for Ottie" at the marker...

There is power in that Pachyderm watching over Ottie's marker...

Hillary's "Strategic" Energy Plan\Solution...

.

Potential Democratic Party presidential nominee and possible(?) 44th President of the United States Hillary Clinton called on actual President Bush to release oil from the strategic reserve to “ease concerns about low crude stocks”.

"I urge the President to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the Northeast Heating Oil Reserve to send a signal to the market and ease concerns about low crude oil stocks that are driving prices higher,"

Unfortunately it appears the possible(?) next President does not understand that the reason for the strategic reserve is to provide valuable crude during major supply disruptions and would rather use it to get valuable votes for a primary election. Like her Hubby and prior co-president “Slick Willie”, Hillary would use our strategic reserves to appear she is providing relief to Americans who are paying high fuel prices when in fact she is ignoring the real problem.

“Former President Bill Clinton ordered the release of up to 30 million barrels from the crude oil reserve in September 2000 to boost available heating fuel supplies heading into the winter.”

And this was just in time before the Gore 2000 Presidential election…

Like “Slick-Willie”, Hillary is ignoring the real problem of a shrinking supply of world crude by calling for a “feel-good” tactic which will do little but attract favorable votes from a simple bloc of voters who are not able to comprehend simple economics and national security. What would the potential(?) 44th President do in a major disruption of world crude when she turned to our strategic reserve and found a low inventory due to her “political” tactics?

Bill Clinton prevented exploration and increased national independence from foreign suppliers of crude when he was the President during his term.

“In 1995, co-President William Jefferson Clinton vetoed a budget bill containing language that would have opened up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil exploration“.

If President Clinton and the Democratic Party members of Congress understood world supply\demand issues and looked towards the future back during Willie’s term in office it would be a different situation now.

“If President Clinton in 1995 hadn't blocked drilling in a few thousand acres of frozen tundra in an area the size of South Carolina, ANWR would today be delivering more than a million barrels of American oil daily“.

Imagine if the 42nd President of the United States had the vision and understanding to provide the needed actions to ensure greater national security and less dependence on foreign sources of crude? The argument then and now is the potential damage to a “Pristine” environment with little returns in supply of American crude\energy. Both of these reasons have been proved false over time and leaves us in the situation we now have. One argument was that ANWR would have provided only a six month supply of crude. Remember what they said about the other drilling project in Alaska?

“But Prudhoe recently observed its 30th anniversary, during which it has delivered its 15 billionth barrel of oil. At its peak, it produced 2 million barrels a day as the migrating caribou herds increased in size“.

The “Clintons” and their Democratic party continue to claim that potential damage to environments are not acceptable and that drilling for known oil reserves off our shores should be prevented. But yet they believe it is alright for countries such as Cuba & China to drill for oil 50 miles off the shores of the Florida Keys.

“Cuba recently granted China's state-owned oil company permission to explore for oil within 50 miles of the Florida coast on Cuba's side of the Florida Strait. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates the North Cuban Basin, accessible from U.S. waters, may contain 4.6 billion barrels of oil“.

The Clinton’s and the Democratic Party seems more interested in the energy security of two countries with documented poor environment practices then the energy security of the United States. They claim that we must expand into alternative energy sources as a solution and favor the practice of ethanol production. Yet when other countries who have a developed program of alternative fuel sources and look towards utilizing known reserves of crude the Clintons and their party remain silent.

“Yes, Brazil has a robust ethanol program, as advocates of that alternative energy regularly point out. But the country still explores for oil. And last Thursday, it announced a major discovery in waters off Rio de Janeiro. The Tupi field is estimated to contain as many as 8 billion barrels of recoverable light crude“.

What would the possible(?) 44th President and her Democratic party do when she looked at her depleted strategic oil reserve after a major supply disruption? Who will they blame when the oil starts washing up on the reefs and beaches of the Florida Keys after Cuba & China continue with their poor environmental practices?

Mainstream Media on thin ice?...

.

The mainstream media once again was called on their published claims of doom & gloom, pending end of the world, and one sided support of environmental scare tactics without presenting all of the facts…

Remember back six or seven years ago when the N.Y. Times reported that there was open water and melted ice at the North Pole only to be told the facts by the scientific community?
“This isn't the first time that real science has exposed hyperbole concerning melting ice at the North Pole. In August 2000, the New York Times ran an apocalyptic story that said the pole was free of ice for the first time in 50 million years.”

"It was retracted three weeks later as a barrage of scientists protested that open water is common at or near the pole at the end of summer,"writes environmental scientist Pat Michaels. "Further, it's common knowledge in the scientific community that there has been no net change in Arctic temperatures in the last 70 years."

Those nasty little facts getting in the way of the story again…

The Timesonline website recently reported that Polar Bears are drowning in the ocean due to global warming melting the icebergs they live(?) on. This after four polar bears were found dead from drowning. Now it is unfortunate that these polar bears drowned but example data of four bears probably does not secure a definite trend when you provide all of the facts.

“So how to explain the increase in the polar bear population from 5,000 in 1950 to 25,000 today, as documented by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service? The alarmists are noticeably quiet. Could it be that the facts don't fit with their campaign of exaggerations, half-truths and outright lies?”

It is safe to say that the global temperature has risen a bit but nothing like the “Scientific models” provided and quoted by some media outlets that promote the Doom & Gloom agenda. Still waiting to see them explain why the temperature on Mars has also risen without a large population of SUV vehicles roaming the martian landscape and how it relates with the increased activity of our shared Sun? Or why has the caribou population increased several times over the years with that nasty oil pipeline running thru their backyard…

"Astronomical Abuser Fees"...

.

It was reported yesterday in several local newspapers that a individual with five previous convictions for driving under the influence was involved in another motor vehicle accident. Numerous people were injured and the above mentioned person had to be airlifted to a area hospital. This individual also refused a breathalyzer test at the scene of the accident which he apparantly caused...

Five Times?

Why is this guy even on the road after five convictions?

Is a "Abuser fee" of several thousand dollars appropriate in this situation?

If this person was confronted with a large fine after the first conviction could it have changed his actions before it got to this point?

What if this person could not have afforded the "Abuser Fee" that many have called unfair?

Would that make a difference to you if you were looking at this driver crossing into your lane and headed directly towards you?

"Questionable" questions...

.

Last week Hillary did not like the questions she got from Tim Russert during the debate so it looks like she has taken control of that problem also. It has been reported that her staff was "feeding" questions for those in the crowd to ask her...

"On Tuesday Nov. 6, the Clinton campaigstopped at a biodiesel plant in Newton as part of a weeklong series of events to introduce her new energy plan. The event was clearly intended to be as much about the press as the Iowa voters in attendance, as a large press core helped fill the small venue....

"After her speech, Clinton accepted questions. But according to Grinnell College student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff ’10, some of the questions from the audience were planned in advance. 'They were canned,' she said. Before the event began, a Clinton staff member approached Gallo-Chasanoff to ask a specific question after Clinton’s speech. 'One of the senior staffers told me what [to ask],' she said.

"The campaign's admission that it planted the question may be another blow to the New York senator's image as a trustworthy politician.
Clinton's critics have accused her of being a double-talker who refuses to answer tough questions specifically. Now her campaign has acknowledged planting at least one question".

"Talk is Cheap"...Not anymore. Now get out there and Vote to the Rightside...

.

The phrase “Talk is Cheap” has been used many times and in many different forms. Today is Election Day 2007 in Virginia and much of the “Talk” has been cheap and this is why must support the Republican Candidates who have delivered solid results for the Citizens of Virginia…

“Cheap”? Not by looking at the amount of money spent on this years campaigns and the Washington Times reports:

“With so much at stake, a record $60 million has been spent on the races, the most in state Assembly history“.

“The money has paid for campaign fliers and radio and TV ads in which Democrats have called Republicans too far to the right for mainstream voters, while Republicans have characterized Democrats as weak on illegal migration“.

Talk is not as cheap as it used to be but there is plenty of it out there and some have been changing their “Talk” to attract more votes. Go back a few months ago and you will find that the Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 24th district was 200% more in favor of a possible fuel tax increase then his competition. Democratic candidate David Cox so liked the suggestion of a possible 1 cent increase in fuel tax as a possible solution to the transportation issue that he immediately suggested doubling the tax increase to 2 cents per gallon resulting in a $100 million tax increase. I now see Cox on TV commercials speaking to me from his kitchen with a “Cup of Joe”, sorry “Latte”, and calling for more efficient government to keep from raising taxes. The citizens of Virginia won’t miss another $100 million will they? The Virginia taxpayer will… Flip-Flop back to the above 2-cent fuel tax idea…

It is important that we support the Republicans who have brought opportunity and has maintained a very strong state economy with a top rating. It is also important that we support elected officials with strong moral values and stand on their past performances. We must support candidates who see “Right” from “Wrong” and look out for the families and hard working citizens of Virginia.

We need people who see issues for what they are and understand that “Illegal” means just that and is willing to address the problem. We need candidates who understand that “Illegal migration” is just that, illegal, and will work to correct this problem. We need to support, view, and accept those who come to our country and state in the proper course of action to become valuable American citizens. Not like some candidates who only see these illegal migrants as a potential party voter once they give them a drivers license, a check, free medical, and make them voter eligible… See numerous articles and reports on Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton about her comments on the NY Democrat looking to pass out driver licenses like candy…

We need candidates and elected officials like Republican Virginia State Attorney General Bob McDonnell who understand the importance of this issue.

"It's a very important issue," Virginia Attorney General Robert F. "Bob" McDonnell said Saturday after campaigning with Mr. O'Brien. "The other side has no plan, and I have basically said all along that Democrats are the do-nothing party when it comes to policing criminal illegal aliens."

Now get out there and support the guys from the “Rightside”…

Homeland Security Threat Level...

.

Quinnipiac University Poll: Oct 23 to Oct 29th...

Hillary Wins Poll !!!

.

The Associated Press reported today that Hillary Clinton has won yet another poll in her quest for a 2008 Presidential category...

"Once again, Hillary Rodham Clinton leads in a poll. This time, she's the top choice when people are asked which major 2008 presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume."

"Thirty-seven percent in an Associated Press-Ipsos survey this month chose the New York senator, the front-runner among Democratic presidential contenders. Fourteen percent selected former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who leads Republicans in national polls.
No other candidate exceeded 6 percent."

"Clinton was the choice of four in 10 men and one-third of women. While a predictable two-thirds of Republicans picked her, she also was the choice of 18 percent of Democrats. Among members of her own party,"

AAGGGHHH!!!

Photo I.D.? “We don’t need no stinkin Photo I.d.’s”

.

Hillary and the gang, member one Virginia Senator Jim Webb, have already been working hard to make it easier for anyone to vote whether or not they are eligible and last week was no exception. Senator Webb has voted on the Senate floor along with most Democratic Party Senators against requiring voters to identify themselves with a photo I.d.

Last week Hillary was asked if she supported New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s efforts to give ILLEGEL immigrants driver’s (Photo I.D) licenses. She then backtracked once she started to catch some flak but lets take a look at her party’s, and hubbies, history of making it easier to commit voter fraud…

John Fund over at Wall Street Opinion Journal has this:
http://www.opinionjournal.com/diary/

"The background here is the National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as "Motor Voter," that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993. It required all states to offer voter registration to anyone getting a driver's license. One simply fills out a form and checks a box stating he is a citizen; he is then registered and in most states does not have to show any ID to vote."

"The potential for fraud is not trivial, as federal privacy laws prevent cross-checking voter registration rolls with immigration records. Nevertheless, a 1997 Congressional investigation found that "4,023 illegal voters possibly cast ballots in [a] disputed House election" in California. After 9/11, the Justice Department found that eight of the 19 hijackers were registered to vote."

"Lou Dobbs of CNN reported that an Oct. 19 memo from the state DMV informed the clerks they don't "have any statutory discretion to withhold a motor voter form." What's more, the computer block preventing a DMV clerk from transmitting a motor voter registration without a Social Security number was removed. "

"Despite her muddled comments this week, there's no doubt where Mrs. Clinton stands on ballot integrity. She opposes photo ID laws, even though they enjoy over 80% support in the polls. She has also introduced a bill to force every state to offer no-excuse absentee voting as well as Election Day registration--easy avenues for election chicanery."

I had the opportunity to see John Fund in Washington at the Americans for Prosperity summit and also own his book “Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy”…

Sandy Berger ~Sensitive Document Retrieval~ Unit

.

Cargo Pants
Tools of the Trade

Hillary has been taking some heat lately for Hubby Bill signing an order that will prevent the release of much of her White House correspondence until after the 2008 election. Even her Democratic party competition has been pressing the issue, boy they are gonna get it, and asking why these documents are being kept from the public.

Hillary has stated that it was Bill’s decision to sign the order and besides there are millions of pages and the archives only work so fast. But it has also been asked about the documents at the Slick-Willie Library in Arkansas and if all of them will be available to viewing…

Enter one Bill Clinton Administration member Sandy Berger who has already been caught using his political status and access to remove and destroy documents from the United States Archives. Just when it was time to go back and look at Bill’s actions and lack of action to deal with terrorism, Burglar Berger went to work moonlighting for his new position of the “Sensitive Document Retrieval” unit…

Maybe this is why Hillary has recently added Sandy Berger to her election team? Never know when you might need a “Black-Ops” guy to go in and eliminated some sensitive documents…
